Super hotel, in vicinity of a major Byzantine site, with super staff,and hotel-made breakfast ingredients.

This is a wonderfully renovated old building with superb attention todetail which is continued in the day to day running of the hotel. Thereis a lovely atmosphere in this hotel. It is the perfect location forvisiting Mystra. The breakfast was delicious and we were sorry wehadn't booked a second night!.

The lovely villa was a pleasure to stay in, with its very comfortablerooms, and patio with orange groves. The breakfast buffetwas fabulous, too. We had recently stayed at the 5* Sofitel at theAthens airport, and the difference in personality and charm wasenormous. Nothing homogeneous or mass produced about the Pyrgos.

We really enjoyed staying. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, stylish and spacious with great view from its balcony. We went to the restaurant that the hotel recommended, (which is in fact owned by the hotel owner.) We liked the foods there very much. Thanks to hotel's advice, we made a reservation in advance for dinner. Otherwise, we might have not been able to get a table as this restaurant appears quite popular among local people.

This is a classy hotel/all around quiet, sophisticated place to comedecompress. Mystras is the only real sight in this area but worth thefull da climb up and down - Sparta doesn't have much, but if nice,incredible service, and quiet rest in rooms staggered up a wonderfulhill with cool breezes are your goal, Mazaraki is your place.Beautiful rooms, all individually decorated in subtle, relaxingcolors, and the maintenance/service is truly 5 star (unintrusive,incredibly good, and much attention to detail). Gourmet breakfastserved in the room - freshly squeezed orange juice and olives areamongst the finest in the land. Don't confuse eu Kalamata olives withthese local products - different world ! Breads are divine, jamshomemade, and everything superb !

Mazariki Pension was a delight! If you plan to visit Mystras, Sparta,Monemvasia and south Peloponnese it is in an ideal position on amountain side overlooking Mystras. The property consists of severalluxury units in traditional buildings of stone and wood surrounded byMediteraneean vegetation. The interion design is striking, wood, stone,natural materials, all very tastefully done - boutique hotel style. Wehad a junior suite with a sitting room with wood burner and flat screentv, a bathroom with wet room, spacious bedroom, wooden floors andterrace overlooking Mystras and Sparta. The breakfast is brought to theroom in s picknick basket and is delicious - lots of local foods areavailable. The staff could not be friendlier! Behind the pension is theChromata restaurant, also recommended. They grow their own organicvegetables and their dishes and desserts are delicious. White organicwine was 4 euro for 1/2l carafe. Don't miss it!
