This hotel is located within a 10 minute walk of the old city square that has all the sites and restaurants of Iraklion. The hotel rooms are warm, cozy and spotless. In addition, the staff are so very friendly!! (the manager gave me his umbrella when it was raining - I thought it was the hotel umbrella). Overall a lovely hotel and a great deal for the price.

The hotel is at a walking distance to the west bus station, and to the archelogical museum. It is very easy and fast to go to the airport by bus from the hotel. Fridge ok. Free wifi in most of the hotel.

The hotel is located close to the harbour, making it a good location tospend a night before catching a boat or on late arrival, withoutspending too much. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.

I looked for a hotel to suit the special needs of my spouse. I relied on the text of your site hotel adapted for thephysically challenged, I assumed you checked it. Even when I went to ahotel mentioned in comments that a couple paralyzed and is in awheelchair. Triedto compensate us in the suite,But there was no access to toilet and shower door too narrow, the hotel entrance has a high degree, we had to wait every time the team will be freed to he.
John  — 8.5.2010
The hotel is located directly in the city centre across the street from the square and is a 10-15 minute walk from the port -- the hotel is very close to shopping/restaurants and makes a great base if you want to make short day trips to other parts of the island. Traffic in downtown is a bit crazy with the narrow streets, but we were able to drive to Kommos Beach/Matala on the south side of the island in about an hour. If you have a rental car you can park on the street at night until 8am for free. Overall, no complaints from us regarding our stay.
Markos  — 30.6.2011
We stayed at the hotel for one night as we had a flight out of Heraklionthe next day. Very comfortable hotel with good service. We reallyenjoyed the rooftop pool as we had a late flight--it was really nice tocool off in the pool and relax on the rooftop after doing somesightseeing during the day. The hotel is located within walking distanceto shopping, port.

The hotel Lato was an absolute delight to stay in. We were lucky to have one of the best rooms in the hotel, a corner suite with huge balcony on two sides of the room, but you could the impression all the rooms were up to the same high standard, even if their layout differed. Admittedly, the hotel isn’t as "Boutique" as you might imagine elsewhere in Europe, but the overall quality and service was as good as any hotel. Hot, cold, continental, cakes, tr.
Lenore  — 18.10.2010
We chose this hotel because the reviews indicated that it was within walking distance from the port. Once we arrived at the port, we were able to locate the sign to the hotel and it was a short walk from the port. The hotel was modern with a nice design. The room was small but comfortable.

We liked Lato Hotel very much. It’s a slick city hotel with a nice roof top restaurant, very close to the city center. Our room was clean and had a balcony with ocean view. The hotel staff was very helpful and they valet-parked our rental car, which was great, saving us from the pain in finding a parking spot on narrow streets.

The Kastro Hotel is a very conveniently located hotel with a wonderfully helpful, friendly and competent staff. The buffet breakfast is a pleasure and the general reception area as well as the breakfast area are spotless clean and well designed. I can only recommend this hotel, it is a jewel among the medium class hotels in Heraklion. Even the rooms that face the little street are quiet and pleasant.

Offered an upgrade at no extra cost, the staff were extremely helpfuland friendly. On our return to Heraklion after 2 weeks we were unable toobtain a room for the night at the hotel but despite being busy themanager went out of his way to ring around all hotels in the area tohelp us find somewhere - excellent and friendly service.

We used the Kastro for a one-night stopover. Our floght arrived late in the evening, so we had a night in Heraklion, a morning in the archaeological museum & taking a walk around the Old Port & then picked up a hire car to travel on to our main holiday location. Hotel Kastro was a good choice for this.
