The Mercure in Wurtzburg was absolutely fabulous! The staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable, and to help us find good restaurants in town. The room was very comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was delicious. The location is a very easy walk to the town center. We booked an extra night at this hotel just so we could stay longer in Wurtzburg. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in this lovely city.

The location was perfect, only a few minutes walk to the old bridge and the base of the path that goes up to the castle. The hotel is right across the street from the promenade along the river, so in a few steps you can be down on the grass next to the water. The rooms were clean and bright, the hotel was modern and nice, there is parking on site (don't try to take a big car in there...) and the staff was very nice and professional. I would definitely stay there again.

The best aspect of this hotel is its location. It is on the other sideof the river from the city centre so relatively easy to get to and from. The old town is a short walk (5-10mins) along the river and over thehistoric bridge. We booked the hotel on the basis of its parkingfacilities. It has a flat car park behind the hotel which is free. Italso has an underground garage which costs around €10/day. Across theroad is metered parking. We used the hotel's flat car park which hadspace. The car park itself is a reasonable size but getting out requiresgoing around a tight corner. We managed okay in a 7-seater so mostnormal family cars should be fine. The room had air-conditioning whichwas a must given the 30Celcius temperature. Many hotels in Wurzburgdon't have a/c - okay in winter, but not in summer.

The hotel staff was very friendly! Answered any questions I had, and spoke english when I needed her to. The hotel room itself, was very nice. I was upgraded rooms, from a single to a double, for the same price. They were all booked out on the single rooms. I got this at a single price. The room weas cleaned daily, so it was always nice. This was an execellent hotel. I would reccomend this to most travellers since it was located in a great area, and the prices were good as well!

Good location, very close to the city center. It has a free parking, but there are few places. There is also a public parking next to the hotel and it costs 8€ / day. There isn't free Wifi in the rooms, but there is a PC in the lobby with internet access. The double rooms are ok, but the single rooms are very small.

Good central location and within easy distance of the railstation. Staffwere all very courteous, friendly and helpful and had a good comand ofEnglish which I was grateful for as my knowledge of the German languageis very limited. They offered and did translate the menu in therestaurant for me despite the fact they were obviously very busy. Foodwas excellent and well presented.

The hotel desk manager let me look at a choice of rooms before decidingwhich on to take- that does not happen in the us. The resturant wasexcellent. The view from my window of the castle was amazing and a veryeasy walk to all the tourist sites in town. I also felt very securebeing alone.
Anne  — 22.11.2011
This hotel is in a lovely location right opposite the river with a good view of the fortress. It is nice and traditional with a very cosy breakfast room. Perfect for walking in to Wurzburg. At night I would definitely recommend having a glass of wine on the bridge with the locals - it's a lovely atmosphere. There is also a nice restaurant on the bridge which at first glance just looks like a small drinking area with a little window where they serve wine from if you want to drink it outside.
Anonymous  — 16.12.2011
The hotel is in an amazing location - step out of the front door and the river and castle are right in front of you. It's also very easy to walk everywhere from the castle to the main sights. The staff were really lovely and helpful. We had our 2-year-old son with us and the bathroom in our room was so huge we were able to set up his travel cot in there for the night. The private underground car park was also great - just 10 euro - although there's also parking on the street on a meter. All in all we found it a great place to stay.

Excellent breakfast. Convient from autobahn Use this hotel on our journey to Croatia so excellent position for us as soon back onto the autobahn. Like to sit in the outside space and relax. Do not think it is ideal for exploring Wurzberg but this is not our reason for staying.
Nick  — 26.10.2011
Convenient for visiting the city centre and for the autobahn. Easy to find, and with tram right outside the door, no problem getting into town for the wine festival! Really good breakfasts too. Beds comfortable, showers small but effective. Staff really helpful. Agree with other comments about making a break on a longer journey.

Having a kitchenette meant we were able to prepare & cook our own meals& keep the cost of our vacation down thus being able to spend a littleon gifts for others. Some food shops were only 5 -10 minutes walk away, others a bit further & as we walked everywhere this was good. Our roomwas clean & had all the essentials provided.
Joseph  — 21.12.2011
The room was very clean and neat with a balcony, and the neighborhoodwas quiet. One can walk into the city center, but there is also a bus(no. 14). a comfortable desk and light make it a good choice forbusiness travel. The kitchenette provided all that was necessary for acomfortable stay. Recommended if you plan to visit Würzburg.

I read some complains that there is no staff at the place, but this isnot truth. We were staying there for a week and every day I could see aclaening lady, who was always very nice and helpful if I neededanything, for example an iron or when the shower got broken, theyreplaced it on the same day. I'd like to thank the telephone contactperson, a woman who was very good fixing some missunderstanding with mypayment, before I even noticed it. Vey fair and honest. The appartmenthad a very good litle kitchen and a big balcony. Perfect place forstaying for a few days.

The staff is very efficient. We arrive at 10 oclock in the morning, theycheck the room and give us an en suite. Rooms are big and designed, giving an chic air, if not sponsored. The only clothes rack to dryclothes in our entire trip. Kitchen too, kettle is too dirty that we usesaucepan instead. Around 10 at night neighbours start chatting aroundfor quite some time, then 7 in morning for shorter time. We have to makeour own bed without knowing why.
