This hotel is extremely well situated if you want to explore the town of Bâle, and nearby attractions, but remaining in the countryside on the German side, train station and bus stop in the immediate vicinity. Very nice staff, buffet breakfast included and a cosy restaurant with Greek cuisine.

The room, internet, wonderful breakfast, good restaurant made this a very pleasant stay for a visitor to Basel and Vitra Design Museum who also wants some peace and quiet. We had a good view of the hills, vineyards and forest and it was very peaceful. I would stay here again. Also, the bus to Basel stops opposite the hotel, this is much more efficient than the trains and is only E2.80.

The hotel is conveniently situated on the sixth floor the Rhein centrejust over the border from Switzerland. An efficient tram service and busservice provide the hotel with excellent access from Basle. Basle itselfcan be accessed within 15 minutes meaning that Hotel Maximillian is anexcellent choice. The rooms were large and spacious, clean and hadexcellent bathroom and kitchen facilities. The Rhein centre provides anopportunity to stock up the kitchen without paying the swiss prices.

great location near basel and much more economical than basel hotels, but still extremely close and easy to get into city by public transportation. It's about a 10min walk to the #8 tram in switzerland and you can then be in Basel within 15-20min. Parking is free and the shopping mall underneath the hotel is a bonus. You can shop and eat for much less than in Basel. The rooms are very big and extremely clean. We actually had a 2 room suite (for the price of one). Only complaint was at night the hallway and "outer" room had a "smoking smell" even though it was a nonsmoking area. Not sure where the smoke was coming from, but we closed the door to bedroom and opended windows. So the smoke did not enter the "sleeping" room. The breakfast was also excellent. They even had scrambled eggs.Overall a very nice stay and very satisfied with our choice.

Very nice place to stay. Small swimming pool next to apartment was a very nice surprise.

Although very basic, it was clean and the owner was helpful. The bestthing for me was that it was quite close to the Messe where I wasattending the basel world watch and jewellery fair. So it tool abour 15min to get there by bus and then tram. This was very convenient.

It was in a great area.You could walk to the food store in less than 5 min and you had a full size refrig in the apartment so you could stock up on food. To help save some money by eating breakfast at the apartment and pack lunches if you wanted. Places to eat not 10 minutes walk and shopping. And 15 minutes Bus ride from Basel Switzerland. Bus stop 3 minutes walk.The apartment was clean and pleanty of room.

The owner was very friendly and gave us lots of information about how to get into nearby Basel. There's a frequent bus service into the city that stops about two minutes' walk from the hotel, so it's very convenient. The room was very clean and comfortable. There's also a nice Italian restaurant called Galileo's just around the corner. It was so good we ate there both nights! Would definitely stay here again.
