a truly friendly family welcomes you in their hotel. the staff is indeed very nice. the rooms are very clean and comfortable. We loved the breakfast with the freshly maded fruit salad and the kitchen for dinner is very good as well. (good wine :-)

The whole experience of staying with this family was fantastic. Everybody was very friendly and gave us a home from home experience. The food was superb and the beautiful cuckoo clock in the restaurant was a fantastic feature. We travelled by motorbike and was given use of the garage for parking. The traditional costume that the staff dressed in added to the whole atmosphere.

We were extremely well received by the proprietors and staff. We were given every consideration and help, particularly with the German language. Room was spacious and comfortable. Food was varied and excellent. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Booked for 2 nights and enjoyed the relaxed, friendly atmosphere andwarm welcome so much, we extended for a further night. The family andstaff couldn't have been more friendly to us and welcomed our dogtoo(!). Restaurant (closed Monday), provided good home-cooked eveningmeals. The hotel is in a quiet side valley; 5 mins walk downhill takesyou to Simonswald, 5 mins walk up takes you into the beautiful hills onthe clearly-marked footpaths. It is very easy access from the a5Freiburg/Strasbourg. Rates include tourist tax, which provides a 2Valley pass giving discounts at some attractions and free publictransport in the area (bus and train): we used them to go free toFreiburg. Free Wifi. Excellent, relaxed, friendly stay in a hotel with agreat location for walking, driving deeper into the Black Forest orvisiting Freiburg area. Thank you for a great break.

I stayed there for three nights and wished I could have stayed longer. This is a 2nd generation family run establishment and you felt welcome from the moment they greeted you. The room I stayed in was very comfortable & meticulously clean. I disagree with a previous reviewer about cigarette smoke odor. I did not experience anything like that neither in the room or in the hallways. The style is typical for B&B's in that area (lots of wood panels) and nicely done. The breakfast was very good, again typical south German B&B setup but nicely executed; yogurt, cereal, fresh baked bread, boiled eggs, cheese and cold cuts, OJ and a choice of coffee or tea. I had dinner twice at the restaurant (run by the same people), both times excellent food. The menu is a mix of south German and Swiss courses reflecting the heritage of the owners. There is free wi-fi internet included and the connection was pretty decent. I had no problem connecting from my room. Even made a few skype calls (voice only)

Excellent ! The rooms aro not luxurious but are extremely comfortable and well decorated. The hotel also has a small restaurant where we had dinner, it was also impressive. The location is beautiful, facing a small stream in the outskirts of town, with a very easy access. All in all a very enjoyable experience.

The host was very friendly and helpful, he suggested a great place to eat nearby that was cheap and welcomed children. The hotel had lovely decor, the kitchen looked clean and quite new. Our room had been freshly painted and was very clean. Overall it was a great experience and for the price we felt like we had a huge bargain.

Nice spacious room (I think I was upgraded to the "apartment" from double room). Excellent food at the restaurant, for breakfast as well as dinner. The outside seating with fountain and large courtyard is great. Very kind and helpful staff, everyone speaks English. Overall it was a great experience.

The Hotel is very clean, the staff very helpful and understanding, thebreakfast was good and worth the money. Also, the hotel is not too farfrom the town centre. Transport from the hotel to the centre is quitegood, the bus stop is just outside the hotel. As we could not get a taxito take us to our destination despite repeated efforts by the staff,they decided to take us to our destination by the hotel's car. I thoughtthat was a wonderful gesture, and it was very much appreciated.

We used this hotel as a stopover on a trip through Europe. Comfortable room - good food (good buffet breakfast as well). The staff were very pleasant. Pleasant area to have a walk in the evening. We would definitely stay here again.

A simple but comfortable and clean hotel. The fact that it is above aGasthaus (restaurant) should not put you off, because it is silent andthere are no smells. Besides, the restaurant serves very good soundgerman cuisine and has a lovely terrace in the summer. About 15 minwalking distance from the centre.
