Very friendly staff. Super nice timber frame building from mid 19th century (a small jewel for anyone interested in architecture) and cosy rooms.

The ambiance was wonderful, it felt like a Swiss chalet. Our hostess went out of her way to provide us with all the information we needed to get back and forth from the hotel to Waldkirsch. Our room was exceptionally spacious and beautifully appointed. We look forward to returning.

It's a nice hotel with a good location to the Black Forest. The food in the restaurant was good (although quite expensive) and the staff were helpful.

The view was fabulous! The staff was so accomodating and spoke English well! The food was crazy gourmet good. The veal medallion melted in my mouth. Their dining room is beautifully luxurious and the printed "Guten Morgen and our name" sign at our breakfast table was a nice personalized touch. We felt right at home. My husband and I were traveling on his R&R from Afghanistan and this certainly fit the bill. Don't try to find this place without a navigator though. The last turn up into the hillside felt like we were entering someone's driveway as the grass roadside was too high to see over and around each curve and hill. We would stay here again in a NY minute!

great pool and sauna; room was clean and comfortable, breakfast adequate and food in restaurant good and generous; enjoyed the old-fashioned bowling alley! Location quiet and peaceful except for church bells just across the road at 6am!

The town that it was in was just like out of a storybook. The hotel isnext to a little church, a beautiful cemetery and a ww1 and ww2 memorialthat is so picturesque. We had some trouble finding any food other thanGerman but there is an adorable bakery just steps away. There was awonderful German restaurant that we ended up going to and it was great.The breakfast in the hotel was delicious and plentiful. Of our 21 dayEuropean vacation our time at this hotel in Gutach is in the top 3 ofall of our memories.

Located in a nice & quiet small village. A spacious room with a balconyfacing the mountains with a very pleasant view. Excellent breakfast.
