This is a great family run hotel on the edge of Fussen. The Owners and staff could not of been friendlier or more helpful to us during our stay. We booked the Family studio room featured in one of the photos which is a great size and has a useful sliding partition door between both sleeping areas. The food at breakfast was varied and vast. We had several evening meals in the restaurant which were well cooked with large portions. The Hotel is situated close to a park leading to a forest with bathing lakes, and walks to a nature reserve. The location is quiet and to be recommended over the town centre which is beautiful but busy. When we asked the reception to help in speaking to a garage when our car developed a fault. The staff and Hotel owner could not of done more to liaise with the garage and accommodate us during the repair.

We enjoyed our stay very much! Hotel is located on the outskirts of Fussen; a bit difficult to find without GPS. Lovely 10-minute walk along the river to get to the altstadt. The restaurant is comfortable and reasonably priced. Breakfast is terrific; very nice staff and service. Rooms are clean, comfortable, but a bit pricey for families. Extensive spa services are available. We loved the proximity to Neuschwanstein as well as the Alps.

The staff (restaurant and hotel and spa services) were particularlywelcoming, helpful, and very accommodating. Since my German is not verygood, they all were willing to use English--and remembered me during myshort stay. I love the location--lovely walk into town, easy to park,and very quiet setting. I like the "low" key atmosphere. Breakfastbuffet is very good. I liked being able to book a massage and otherservices on site--but one needs to arrange them in advance.

Hotel Hirsch is a very nice hotel. The rooms were very large by Europeanstandards. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location isideal right across the street from the Alstadt. My gps had troublefinding the street but it was right in the middle of Fussen. I woulddefinitely stay here again. Breakfast was average for German hotels.

Our stay at Hotel Hirsch was great. The room was very spacious andclean. The hotel staff was really helpful: providing a room upgrade,early check-out, a bagged breakfast because we had an early train andcould not eat breakfast at the hotel. Also, the dinner at Hotel Hirschwas one of the best meals we had during our time in Europe. All of thefood and wine were excellent. We had a great experience at Hotel Hirsch.

For our needs the hotel was well situated. Right across the street fromthe old town, and a 10 minute drive to the castles. The breakfast whichwas included in the hotel price was very nice with lots to choose from,even for us who are vegetarian, and if one is a carnivore,even better.Lots of restaurants nearby to choose from, and one in the hotel, whichwe did not try. If we were to come back to Fuesson again, we wouldcertainly consider Hotel Hirsch again

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay @ Hotel Sonne. The staff, the room, thehotel atmosphere and design, the breakfast buffet - all of it wassuperb. The staff are friendly, professional, knowledgable and helpful.The location is perfect- simply walk outside and you're at the beginningof the pedestrian/shopping area. It is a 5 min. Drive from the hotel tothe parking for the castles. We were traveling w/ our 13 yr old son, andwhen we weren't at a castle or shopping, he was quite content utilizingthe wi-fi in the room. We highly recommend Hotel Sonne.

We had a one night stay at the hotel and it is right in the heart of thetown which was great. The car was parked in the underground garage andthey allowed us to stay after our check out so we utilised the local busservice for our trip to the schloss which was cheap, on time and theright thing to do for us.The bus station is a 2 minute walk from thehotel. We ate twice in the hotel in the 1st floor restaurant and the barbistro wrapped in blankets outside which was great. The food is goodquality and the steak was superb. All the staff are great and thereceptionist was very helpful. We would stay again. The free use of thewashing machine was very welcomed as we have paid a lot for hotellaundry service in the past.

I loved everything about this hotel but nothing more than the surpriseof the hotel itself. The pictures on the Booking.com website do not dothis hotel justice either on the outside or inside. From the moment youwalk in to the time you need to depart you will enjoy every moment. Irate this hotel from a 4 to a 5 and in my mind would get a solid 5 ifthe room decor was updated along with the bedding, but do not take thisas a complaint. For a romantic night to a family vacation this hotelwill not disappoint. The hotel restaurant is a solid solid dinner housewith a wine list that will satisfy casual to serious wine lovers alongwith a varied menu to meet all tastes. I would expect to pay twice theamount for this hotel but like the hotel itself the price is also a verynice surprise.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel just after Christmas and we wantedto see King Ludwig's castles in Fussen, Germany. The hotel is almostright behind the train station-so great location. The room wasbeautifully decorated and very large with an amazing view of the town.Breakfast was more than enough and the staff were very friendly andhelpful. I was slightly disappointed because of all the scaffolding onthe castles and churches but the hotel made up for it. Lovely place!

We loved everything about this hotel. It was very close to the station and our family room was large, quiet and warm with a great bathroom. The breakfast was good and the staff very attentive. There were self serve hot drinks available all day and evening and access to a computer and washing facilities. We would love to have stayed longer here and would recommend this hotel. We hope to stay again. It was excellent value.

There is trampoline for kids and free parking.The room was small but had enough sleeping space for all the five ofus (two adults, two children and a baby). Breakfast was very good forsuch a small hotel - there were eggs and sausages and good selectionof cold food. I would definetely recommend it as a base for exploringthe region.

Beautiful lakeside hotel. Stayed in 3 person apartment with sofa bed,adequate for two children 9 and 6 with no extra charge. Very good breakfast. Large underground parking area. Receptionist Mr. Altmann, a gentleman who is always ready to assist on your request. Passionate and graceful owner and hostess Mrs. Haussler will treat you like family coming home. She seems to be always walking about the hotel area helping out, but in true just trying to meet her guests to see if everything is all right. Her genuine care for her guest fully reflects on all staff members. Experienced sincere Bavarian hospitality during our short stay.

The location was excellent - right on the lakeside! Our apartment was modern and spacious with wonderful views from the balcony. The staff were very friendly and helpful, there was free coffee/tea available and the restaurant food was reasonably priced and excellent. There were lots of walks right on the doorstep. Short drive into Fussen and the nearby castles. Walking distance across the lake park to a small supermarket, bank and tourist information. Lovely, warm small indoor pool, fitness facilities, games room and sunbeds on lawn outside. The public lake area next door was busy on warm days but very convenient with boat hire, lake swimming and even an outdoor band one evening! We were made to feel very welcome and were even given a small leaving gift (jams), bottled water for the journey and Seespitz caps for the boys!

Others have commented that the second bedroom wassmall, but it was large enough and what do you want from a bedroom,really? Fifth bed was a sofa-bed, by the way, but comfortable. Just hadto put it away in the day time. Walk in wardrobe had plenty of space for us as a family, but shared across the apartment - might not be what you want if you are two couples sharing. Kitchenette had all we needed (hob only, but fine for light meals), and restaurant downstairs offered good Italian food. Bread delivered to door was well priced (more or less same as local supermarket) so we didn't have to do early morning supermarket runs. Laundry was free, which was a definite bonus after a week somewhere else! Would visit again, and would recommend it.

The welcome on arrival was warm and friendly, and the level of serviceduring our five night stay was impressive. Everything was spotlesslyclean and our room contained all requirements to ensure a comfortabletime, including a sizeable balcony. Breakfasts were huge. The hotel wasset in a quiet neighbourhood within minutes of a lake and country walks.Fussen's many restaurants were only a 15-20 minute walk away, andthere was ample parking in the hotel grounds so no worries about thecar. The owner was very organised and flexible - for example on our lastmorning, we had to depart extremely early but he insisted weshouldn't miss out on our breakfast and provided it in his kitchen.A thoroughly recommended hotel!

We often travel a lot & live in kinds of hotels everywhere. It is not a4 or 5-Star luxury hotel ,but actually offered the best service to theirguests!Especially the nice hotel master! We arrived later than therequired check-in time but the hotel master kept not only on patientwaiting but also preparing cool orange juice for us. In the nicecomfortable room there are delicious chocolates in the plate & coucheson the balcony. The great surprise came on the followed morning,thebreakfast is really "exquisite" . The various & new cooked food, elegantcombination of the colors & tableware,& the special gift to everyone,from all the details we could know how attentive the master is. Thistime we did not travel with car so the hotel master send us to theSchloss Neuschwanstein personally by their own car. So we'd like topresent our thankfulness & the appraisal "perfect" to the HotelChristine & its master!

The propietor, Herr Ruppert, made us very welcome throughout our stayand nothing was ever too much trouble for him. It started even before wechecked in, as we had arrived very early and clearly our room was notyet prepared. However, he was happy for us to park our car in the hotelcar park while we walked into Fussen for lunch and even provided us witha local map and detailed instructions as to the most pleasant way intotown. On our return a couple of hours later, he provided us with a cooldrink while we checked in. We also had a voucher for free access to theInternet on a couple of days, which was provided immediately we asked,although he was busy doing something else at the time. Best of all wasthe breakfast, which was sublime every day, and always included anindividually cooked course (eggs or pancakes, etc). And I almost forgotthe stunning position of the hotel - I requested a room with a view, asfriends had stayed there before, and considered this to add considerablyto the enjoyme

Locates right beside the lake. The restaurant seems to be known to the neighbourhood, and many people come to the restaurant. You get discount on tickets to castels if you stay in this hotel. (don't know if that is common for other hotels in Fussen)

Excellent location. The managers go out of their way to make your stay easy and take a family approach. Good value for money. Do not miss sitting in your terrace next to the lake (both in the dark with the cool wind and during the day with perfect views). Good breakfast.

My two bedroom apartment is located on the first floor and has directaccess to the lake which fantasic view is just in front of you. Thebreakfast is american style and really delicious which fullfill ourstomach. There is a hiking path around the lake that might lengthen tothe whole lake . The staff we met are very nice and kind. And we cookeddelious steak and soup by self. In summary, it's a good place to choose.

This is very good accomodation to stay at! People in House L.A are nice and friendly. When you go to the common room, you can chat to the people staying there and it's easy to become friends! If you are thinking to stay at Fussen, there would be no choice but to stay at House L.A!

Laundry facility. 7 euro for wash and dry of load. The kids running thisare real sweet, speak english well and are helpful. This was our firstHostel and we were impressed with this one. It was fun. A little farfrom the train station but not impossible. The stores close at 8pm soget your goodies before then. The restraunts in the area are veryexpensive so buy your groceries. Hostel let us use silverware and dishesbut no cooking in room. Another guest said they had wanted to use thekitchen but it was not permitted.

The man that helped us was very nice. I believe he was the owner. We initially went to the hostel not knowing the hotel was in a different location. The staff there directed us to the hotel and we were met there by, I assume, the owner. He was very nice and gave us comforters, pillows, and towels. The comforters were very plush which was nice. The room was very small but we didn't expect anything more than that and the bathroom was very clean, great water pressure, and hot water!! We could've had breakfast but we left too early to enjoy.
