Good hotel, excellent breakfast. Quiet rooms except for some traffic when open window and a bit noisy air conditioner, but it didn't really bother me. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Very good service from all the staff, the food was very good and the room was also ver comfortable.
Marco  — 31.12.2011
Everything. Can't fault it except the wine list was very limited for ahotel of this class. Just shows that a privately owned and well managedhotel will always beat a corporate chain hotel for overall quality andservice. The smoking area of the main reception and bar just brilliantfor the cigar with the brandy. Brilliantly un-American and un-PC.
Bastiaan  — 19.11.2011
Staff was very welcoming, friendly and ready to help - in the morning, they even brushed the snow from the cars in the parking. This added to the overall feeling of staying in a luxury hotel. Location of the hotel is great: close (by car) to all the cities in the region and in a beautiful, natural surrounding where you can relax. Spacious and comfortable room. Two excellent restaurants on the premises which makes it very easy to find yourself a nice meal in the evening.

the hotel is situated on the direct tram line from the central tram station. The tram comes every 5 to 10 minutes
Ben  — 18.2.2012
Very tastefully decorated and renovated rooms. Breakfast was of very high quality with much variety. Area was nice and quiet
Jon  — 17.2.2012
The 'Apartment' style of the hotel meant you could come and go as you pleased, and prepare a snack, drink or breakfast to your own timetable in the kitchenette in each room. We were in Essen to visit Messe Essen for a car show, and not being tied to a timetable for meals etc., was very useful for us. Very close to the tram-stop for easy travel throughout the city, using Essen's excellent public transport system.
