We were traveling for a month in Europe and stayed in many nice hotels. This one was exceptional in every way for location, views, and breakfast buffet. The hotel location and views were outstanding. Transportation and walking paths were adjacent. Historic areas of Dresden were just across the bridge.The hotel was beautiful and the staff provided all services cheerfully. Spa and recreation facilities exceeded all expectations.

The stay , though for just 1 night was absolutely fantastic. One of the better hotels I have personally visited in my life. Great staff, very professional and courteous, clean and beautiful room with en-suite bath , great indoor pool and spa, and fabulous restaurants. I was pleasantly surprised when the chef cooked vegetarian specially for us ( because I am vegetarian , and there was nothing on the menu, which I expected). Nice rooms, great choice of local wines and brilliant room service. I felt really humbled by the warm welcome , the smiles and courtesy of the local hotel staff. The other advantage is its vicinity to the Dresden Town Center. Thank you , Bellevue

The hotel was comfortable and well run. The desk staff were excellent and friendly. Our room was large, comfortable and the bathroom was good. It is a large hotel with some good public rooms and restaurants in the older part of the hotel. Our room was in a modern part but was fine. It was well insulated against noise - there is a busy road at the back of the hotel. Swimming pool very large and above ground so light. Fitness centre fine. The location suited us. Ten minutes across the bridge into the old city centre with museums, shops etc. We also really liked Neustadt which is the area near the hotel. Quieter than the old town for an evening meal - plenty of choice. Also antique and quality clothes shops to look at. We'll stay in this hotel again.

Its location is really excellent.It is near the main railway and approximately 15-20 minutes from the center of the city.Also I was surprised by the internal architecture of this hotel.The room was really nice,clean and rather spacious with TV.Also I could feel the atmosphere of the coming New Year, because the restaurant and the hotel itself was decorated with new years decorations:)))

My husaband and I had an enjoyable 4 night stay in April 2011. The Kipping Hotel has an interesting history as well as being most comfortable and suited our requirements exceedingly well, being close to the main Dresden Bahnhof, attentive staff, excellent buffet breakfast with many choices and dinner available, if needed.We would certainly book there if we are again in Dresden, which is a lovely city and area. We are older travelers from Australia, who wish that we could visit more. This is our second visit.

An atmospheric hotel in a beautiful setting with a lovely view of the Elbe- who could want more ? Breakfast was a delght witha vast range of delicacies. Rooms were spacious and well maintained . A free safe for valuables added vavue to the holiday. The spacious grounds were a joy to walk in . Staff service was first class, especially the attentive breakfast staff.The nearby tram service made travel to the Altestadt convenient (about 10 minutes).

The view from the room (in the castle) is absolutely amazing. The balcony of our room gave a panoramic view on Dresden, the river Elbe and the 'Blaues Wunder' (famous old bridge over the Elbe), with the mountains of the Sächsische Schweiz in the background. Really very special. The breakfast choice and quality are good with a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables; the view from the breakfast terrace was almost as good as from our room. The grounds of the hotel, with a combination of formal flower gardens, lawns, a pond and a large forest with huge old trees, are very well kept: compliments to the gardeners! Finally, the location is perfect: close to the city but also totally quiet.

Although I knew of the hotel high reputation, I was still surprised by utmost professionalism in service and accommodations. We were offered to upgrade to a room in the castle for 57 euros, and it was a great choice - the room was superb, with fabulous view of Elbe and the park, extremely comfortable bed, exceptionally adorned bathroom, a plate a fresh fruit and a bottle of water - that is true hospitality. There was also a fridge in the room and a safe. We were overly elated after great breakfast and champagne (not free, though) to forget our passports and wallets in the safe, and when called to the hotel, they've found it and were willing to ship to Berlin, but due to the holiday we chose to return to pick it up; all was ready and intact. The breakfast was fantastic; and the gardens were to match those in Ravello in Villa Rufolo, it seems. Definitely it is so far the best hotel we've stayed in Germany. Bravi!

Once again, the hotel room was immaculate, the staff friendly, and theservice obliging. I chose this hotel because it is located an easywalking distance from the Main Train station as well as work. I will bestaying there once a week for the duration of my contract. I truly hopethey continue this level of service as consistent levels of service areimportant. I am so impressed with the hotel cleanliness.

Wonderfull place just a 15 min walk from centrum with a lovly hostess who also can cook. All the service you wish for can be fixed and her garden is wondertful to relax in. If you want food, massage, champagne and strawberries in the room, or just a ride to the town... she´ll fix everything for you. You will feel like you are at home! Very clean with Itakian cooking and away from the "mass" it is exellent living.

The staff,with only one gloomy exception were very helpful and friendly.I was particularly impressed with their excellent assistance in posting my medicine that I had inadvertently left behind on to Berlin.This was very helpful and an excellent advertisement for the staff.I liked the cleanliness of the rooms and the breakfast was very good value.This hotel really seems to be making an effort to provide good service to international travellers as well as domestic clientele.

Good clean apartment, with no complaints. Located near the tram station that goes directly to Dresden (no. 8) and takes roughly 20-30mins. Quiet, good value and free parking. Supermarket nearby as well for budget-minded.

Very nice and cosy hotel with large rooms, kitchenette with refrigerator. Tram goes just by the hotel, so good connection to the center. There's a very good swiss restaurant downstairs serving delicious rösti and other swiss specialities, friendly staff. This is a must if you love swiss food :)

The location is great. Just board tram #8 that passes by every 15 minutes. This takes you directly downtown to the historical section of Dresden The room in the Fliegerhorst was good sized. It was very clean and the bed is comfortable. A nice large bathroom complete with a rubber ducky in the shower rounded out the space. As advertised, there is a kitchenette with a refridgerator, two burner stovetop, sink, and exhaust hood. However, there were minimal kitchen utensils and nothing to cook with. When we asked for cooking pans we were told that they did not want cooking in the rooms, especially no frying. We were finally provided with a small sauce pan to boil an egg. But, were again told that if we wanted to cook, we should have booked elsewhere. The Fliegerhorst would be best for an overnight, but not for extended stay to tour the city.

Location was fantastic, right in the middle of all the best sights, Frauenkirche, Palais, Dom, museums, everything. Parked the car and didn't see it the rest of the stay. Parking is at a discount - 15E per day insead of the regular 20E. Hotel is in the block between the Frauenkirche & the river in the block with the restaurants. Just around the corner from the Hilton. Nice little apartment with sitting room & dining area - loved the live plants. Decent sized tv with english channels including movies. Kitchen was well appointed with coffee pot, toaster, cooktop, fridge, plenty of glassware, dishes & untensils. All was very clean.

We stayed in a one bedroom apartment & it was great. Clean, comfortable, home away from home feeling. Kitchenette had a refrigerator, stove, coffee maker, toaster, plenty of dishes and a few pots & pans. Everything you would need for eating breakfast or light meal. Bathroom was large with a shower, linens were nice and a washing machine was in the bathroom. Large bedroom with plenty of storage and a safe for keeping valuables. The hotel to our surprise had an elevator and for us that is a big plus. We travel with our dog and they provided a water bowl and a little bag of doggy treats, extra nice touch. The living room had a sofa and two chairs and the TV had several English channels to our great surprise, even a movie channel in English.

The Apartment we had overlooked Munzgasse. The location was incredible! I was travelling with my parents, both in their 60's. The stairs were a bit difficult for my mother but their are only 10 steps so it wasn't too bad. The staff were fantastic; the level of English was perfect to respond to our queries and give us all the information and assistance we required. The Apartment was furnished with standard furnishings but with everything you could need for a single night stay up to a month! The bedrooms were comfortable and the entire apartment was spotless - right down to no dust or fingerprints on the glassware or furniture anywhere! I was very impressed. The location is perfect to see all the historical buildings in Dresden and it is a short stroll to the rivers's edge to take a steamboat to the castles. It is right on the square of the Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady). Couldn't be better!

A family run hotel. Owners very thoughtful and gentle. The room isindeed an apartament with 1 room, living room,kitchen and bathrrom....ALot or space...The only bad thing is that we got the thrid floor andthere is no lift but the loaded our lagagge to the apartament forus...The tram 9 has a stop infront of the hotel and took us to the oldtown but we could also walk for 15 minutes and get there

Gästehaus Metz is a real extraordinary place to stay: At walking distance from the Altstadt city centre and the Neustadt (and Neustadt trainstation). It has a very kind, responsible and always helping staff. This family run hotel is very comfortable, with nice, spacious and well equipped rooms (Satellite TV, radio, CD-player, WIFI). The Buffet Breakfast is also recommendable. A great experience. 100% recommendable.

Our welcoming was extremely warm and our hosts helped us with finding everything we needed from gas pump to tourist sites. They even carried our luggage for us. Our room was on the first floor and was large, and well furnished. Breakfast, albeit not too varied, was fresh and tasty. Whenever we had a question, our hosts searched the internet to help us out if they did not already know the answer. You can get downtown in 10 minutes on foot and you ca take trams to get you anywhere in the city from just outside the hotel. The parking space is roomy and secure (as it's locked over night). Even though there is no elevator, the hosts' hospitality and the house's position compensate for this and we warmly recommend anyone stay here. The Dragomirs

The service was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was ok, there were things to choose. The rooms were very tidy, the heating was very useful and efficient (important if you go there in christmas season). Hot water, clean towels, room service - everything at its best. The bus stop is 5 min walk.

Very friendly and helpful staff, although not very fluent in English.Large, clean rooms with large bathrooms. Very quiet place, good forrelaxing. Next to a very nice and big (city) forest, very good forrunning, jogging, walks etc.Not very far from center - maximum 30minutes walk through a very nice neighborhood. Good breakfast. All sortsof facilities for sports.

A great place to stay with dogs as the hotel has a very large field where you can exercise them. There is a large covered outdoor area with tables perfect for a warm spring evening. The staff were very helpful but spoke very limited english, The rooms are basic but you have access to a communal room with a fridge & large screen TV and where you take drinks on trust which you pay for on check out. The price is much lower than hotels which are only slightly closer to the Messe.

Large room and bathroom, nicely decorated and well kept. Clean. Very nice staff, creating a homey atmosphere. I indulged in the Hamam spa downstairs complete with massage, which was awesome.

At arrival I was told that they had a pipe burst the previous night and that I would have to stay in a single room with the shower across the hallway. The shower was fixed over the toilet. Later in the evening I was moved in a bigger room with en suite bathroom and I was informed that this would be the room where staff would normally be accommodated. The room was better but the next day my second pillow and duvet disappeared, it was -15 degrees while I stayed there. The breakfast was disappointing with only a little selection of cheese and bread rolls and it appeared to become less by every day. The room was dirty and not properly cleaned during my stay, I would find old tissues in the evening under my pillow.

the cleanless - TOP! the interior in mexican style and colours finished with german perfection. on busy road hiding in far back, protected of street noise, with a lot of shops and coffees around. I enjoyed again the hostel-guesthouse style as an experienced traveller. the difference is the size of the house and rooms compering with other countries around the world, in germany you get mostly the spacious comfort of the house ( I travelled in most of european countries, aus, nz, south and central america... ) would highly recommend!

This Hotel is very close (5 min walk) from the main train station sooffers easy access if travelling to Dresden by train . The room wasextremely clean and a good size for European rooms.The breakfast wasvery good with lots of cereals ,juices ,fruits,cheese,meets,bread andtea or coffee.Lots of tables available in the dining area so no delaygetting served .The Hotel held our baggage after checkout at no cost ina secure room with luggage tagged and recorded .Overall I felt this wasa convient Hotel in Dresden close to the train station and a ten minutewalk to the centre of the city ,surrounded by shops and tram stop andbus stop outside the door .Also a stop for the hop-on-hop-off bus whichwas great value and well worht doing if your time is limited in thisvery beautiful city.

The breakfast was very goodjust to fulfill your hunger in the morning and the worker are verydilligent. There is a huge parking lot just acroos the hotel (Euro 6,50perday) and is very cheap compared with the hotel parking which is Euro15 per day and most of the time is fully booked. All the hotel personalsare very friendly and helpfull. We will surely stay at this hotel againon our next visit to Dresden.

The A&O was easily accessed from Dresden Hauptbahnof Station by bus 66 or on foot - maximum 10 minutes.The staff were very friendly & helpful at all times.The SKY bar was reasonably priced and gives you a great view of Dresden. The Hotel is not the greatest looking building, square BUT functional, built prior to unification of Germany. The breakfast buffet was constantly replenished and represented great value @ 4 euros per person, although the only EGG option was boiled.

The location close to the Main Station and Gret-Palucca tram station is very convenient, there is also a bus stop directly in front of the hotel. The staff speaks fluent english and is very friendly. The room was quite small and not particularly suitable for a long stay, but is perfectly ok to stay the night if you have a lot of outdoor activities during the day. The heating was good even during an especially cold time in Dresden, no problems there at all. All in all, good value for money for a busy traveller.

Our family of four found this hotel to be "just right". Our room was clean, comfortable, quiet, and close to public transportation. We could easily walk to the main train station with all our luggage and children in tow in less than 10 minutes as well. The breakfast was a standard European buffet & we appreciated the freshness of everything even more after a stay at another hotel/hostel. An Aldi grocery store is right next door. It offers a limited selection but is a nice break from standard tourist area prices. Finally,if you've got kids, the play area in the lobby will appeal to them while you check in/ out.

The manager asked the december price in november. Quick and accurate advice for activities. Rooms look/feel very spaceous because of the design. Perfect kitchen. Very, very clean and even a bit luxury with a balcony. Map on hostel flyer makes travelling in Dresden simple.
