I wish to draw your attention to the following. The matrasses were verysoft, too much and sank in, so that after the first night I sufferedtremendous pain in my back. I asked early morning that soemthing be donebut the service was unacceptable to put it mildly and I spoke withseveral of the staff in the reception. In the end I said I would leavethe hotel and I was so angry. The solution was found by putting a boardunder the matrass and I can say it improved things at once. I do notunderstand why the matrasses on the bed are so soft and usually in mosthotels in Germany they are quite hard and do wonders to the back. Myhusband was also unsatisfied with his matrass but decided not tocomplain. It took about 5 hours to fix the problem and to give me somereasonable answers from the staff in general even though I applied a fewtimes. The terminus for the airport (Tegel) bus is right outside the hotel. Youare 2 minutes a large U-bahn & S-bahn stations. From If you want museumsthey are almost all within about a 10-15 minute walk. A large GaleriesLafayette with gourmet food hall is a 30-second walk from the hotel anda c&a is 1 minute. There are various types of restaurants all around thearea, although you may have to look a bit. We found a wonderful Italianrestaurant "Oliva" about a 20-minute walk away. The hotel buffet in theevening was very good value. We never had breakfast in the hotel, as Ithink the options for that were overpriced; however, there is a goodKaffeehaus (and a Burger King) accessed through the hotel. The U-bahnand S-bahn station is a 2-minute walk and has lots of options for cafe-type food on its various floors. Hotel security for access to rooms andfor bag-holding was superb.
