A comfortable 3 star hotel in Berlin centre, LebensQuelle is ideal for all travellers on a trip to Berlin Wall, thanks to the hotel exceptional location. Within a few minutes walking distance from LebensQuelle Hotel, the AlliiertenMuseum (Allied Museum) is located in Friedrichstraße, where the famous Checkpoint Charlie was situated until 1990, namely the best known Berlin Wall crossing point between East and West Berlin during the Cold War. Well connected with the whole Berlin, LebensQuelle Hotel is a good starting point to get to know this fascinating city and its strong historical heritage.

This is a great hotel if you are looking for basic but cleanaccomodation. We stayed in room 24 for 3 nights, which was a family roomwith a large double bed and two singles. All had very firm matresses, but the room was very clean, as was the en-suite shower room. The hotelfront door is literally right by where the Berlin Wall was, and room24's window overlooks the path of the wall and looks into what wasEast Berlin. The old "no man's land" was still wasteground when we stayed. Breakfast was excellent, with hot boiled eggs, toast, meats, cheeses, cereal, coffee, tea - everything apart from afull English option. Note that the hotel reception is on the 4th floorand rooms are all on floor 4 or 5. There is one lift, but this brokedown when we were there (though only on the day we left fortunately) andlooks quite old. Staff at reception were helpful, but spoke no Englishat all. Take a phrase book! Oh - and it is just 5mins walk fromCheckPoint Charlie. In the museum there, th

The location, next to Checkpoint Charlie, is ideal for exploring Berlin on foot. You're right in between the two major hubs of sights in the city (Kulturforum and the area around Bradenburg Gate) to the west and Museum Island, Alexanderplatz to the east. To me, any hotel that has smoked salmon and delicious breads for (included) breakfast deserve a 5-star rating. =) When we arrived, we were given a room that had not been cleaned. We were switched to a triple room and then back to our double room the next day - as we were ready to leave to see the city. Despite the hassle, the hotel staff dealt with everything quite nicely.
