Excellent location and room perfect - clean & very comfortable. However, I feel Reception service could have been far better, We were there for the reunification celebrations on 3rd October so duly asked Reception what time the fireworks would be as we'd heard that there would be fireworks at the Brandenburg Gate to celebrate this event. We were originally told 10.00pm, which they then checked on the internet and as they couldn't find any definite timings, they amended to anytime from 8.00pm. As it turned out, there weren't any fireworks and when we arrived at 8.00pm, the entire festivities for the day had just finished. Surely local staff should have known this? Even worse, when we left the next day, we enquired about the Airport Express train. I liked everything about the Melia Berlin. Could'nt fault it in anyway.Staff were brilliant, food excellant and facilities outstanding. Itwas so central to all the major sights, and those on the other side ofthe city could be reached by public transport in a short space of time. The Melia is situated almost on the river Spree, and having breakfast ata table in the window each morning, gazing out onto the river, was alovely way to start the day. The buffet breakfast was so elaborate, itwas almost impossible to choose, so we tried a little of everything.Almost!!! The bedroom was large and spotless, the bathroom a dream.Greatvalue for money, and we will certainly be back to the Melia.
