This is aquaint and traditional, family run hotel. The chambre deluxewas truly amazing. The breakfast is very simple but all that's necessaryand good value. Mme was lovely and attentive, the breakfast waitress andthe younger evening staff were all very good without being over the top.The food at dinner was as you would expect from a hotel of its era. Thecrockery beautiful. Loved our stay!

We only stayed in Vitry le Francois as we were travelling over the Easter holidays and couldn't book accommodation in other more interesting places. So it was just an overnight stop. The room was simply furnished with good facilities, and clean and brightly decorated. Sound proofing was good - and necessary due to the nearby church bell. We got the room on offer so it was very good value for money. The hotel has a small lock-up garage for an extra 5 euros a night, but it doesn't seem to be bookable in advance. We got a space as the hotel was really quiet.

Excellent service, friendly staff, excellent Fench food (very attractive gourmet restauant or relatively simple meals in brasserie-style restaurant/bar). Good range of French wines. Reasonable value-for-money, clean rooms. Small secure indoor car park. This hotel is nicely located in this attractive small town close to cathedral and fine main square with a good variety of shops and restaurants nearby. Vitry-le-Francois was flattened in WW1 and totally rebuilt between the wars and is an excellent stopping-off point in the valley of the Marne, one hour south-east of Reims.
