After reading some positive and negative reviews about the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff I was very pleasantly surprised at how helpful and friendly the staff were. The hotel is very conveniently situated for a walk into the old town of Sarlat, I had a young child and teenager with me and both found the walk easy. I was fortunate with the parking, but there is no hotel carpark, only street parking, so get there early to secure a place to park. Our room was very comfortable and clean, it would be nice to have a tea/coffe.

The hotel is quiet, old, comfortable and charming. There was a swimming pool withvery pretty courtyard surroundings. We met up with other guests from theusa and Australia at breakfast and they were also pleased with thehotel. It was ideal for our overnight stop.

We love the location of the hotel. Especially for french standards. We would defently go back if we were in the neightbourhood. The room had a bit to much of the same fabric but the whole hotel compesated that minor thing.

Bon Encontre was an excellent hotel. The hotel was charming - there was a lovely reception andbreakfast area and the pool and its facitlities were superb. The hotel had an excellent view ofthe surrrounding countryside and although this meant a rather steepincine on the way up (5 minutes down to the centre of town, 15 minutesup) it was not a problem and well worth it. I had an excellent stay hereand would definitely return and would not hesitate to reccommend thehotel to anyone.

Just outside the town so the position of the hotel is very relaxing with clean pool and facilities. Family type hotel but good for couples. Very clean with friendly, hospiltable staff. Excellent location for exploring the Dordogne.

Very pleasant and small hotel, staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located just 10 minutes walk from the city center but at the hotel it is very peaceful.

The staff was very helpful. The air conditioning was great (we were there during a hot spell). The location was easy walking distance into the center of Sarlat. The rooms were well maintained.

The staff was amazingly helpful and the hotel is unique, quaint, andvery comfortable. The hotel caters to groups andgenerally provides only breakfast to others. It was one of the bestmeals we had in France and the entire staff treated us like royalty. Wewere very sad to have to leave this place.

The hotel and the grounds are beautiful! Lovely pool, clean comfy rooms and lovely decor. Breakfast was excellent and when we were able to eat dinner at the hotel, it was fantastic! The staff were very helpful in terms of recommending places to visit and giving directions. Sarlat is very beautiful - we loved it! It is a very good place to get around the region but you really do need a car.

Charming hotel with excellent service and facilities in a garden seting within walking distance of Sarlat. The owners and staff were freindly and caring and made our stay delightful. Excellent buffet breakfast as well. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Good sized and modern room and bathroom. Facility contained a separatelounge area for relaxing. Host was welcoming and drove us into the towncentre and organised a taxi for us to get to the railway station (gare).The breakfast was reasonable and in a nice setting. The facility has anice view across the valley and a pleasant outdoor area with table &chairs. This facility provided very good value for money and wasenvironmentally friendly (dry toilet and organically grown foods)

Muriel and Bernard are very friendly and knowledgeable hosts, they gave us plenty of tips where to eat out and what to visit. Very clean room and facilities, quiet and relaxing location, free car parking, lovely surrounding, and most certainly, excellent value for money. Good, secure wifi.

Outstandingly, friendly English speaking hosts. Very helpful and full of precious advice. Spotless, bargain priced rooms make this the perfect base for an extended stay in the region. Free parking means you can leave the car and take an easy walk into the town centre.
