I booked the hotel based on the reviews I read on Booking.com andbecause we were looking for a stopover in the Loire Valley with a bit ofcharacter. We certainly found that. The owners were extremely friendlyand courteous and very welcoming indeed. Madame took great care of us.Beautiful location right out in the middle of the vineyards of the Loirebut also close enough to Montrichard for restaurants in the evening. Iwould thoroughly recommend this as the perfect place to relax and unwindfor a few days. Beautiful pool outside for the kids and tables andchairs for adults to sit and enjoy the view of the lush countryside. Westayed in a family room which can only be described as stunning withincredible views and very tastefully decorated. We did some wine tastingwhile we were there and bought some lovely wine. Breakfast wasdelightful and plentiful. Can't fault it. Lovely experience all round.

We only used this hotel as a stopover on our way to Bayonne, andalthough this was a charming location, and the room was fairly large thebathroom facilities were very poor. There were no toiletries, apart froma liquid soap by the wash hand basin, the shower head had to be held byhand, because the shower head holder was broken, and there was no doorbetween bathroom and bedroom, it was just an alcove in the room. Westayed here in mid september, but we were told they only serve eveningmeals in the summer! So not brilliant to have to drive to the nearesttown to eat, especially after travelling some distance throughout theday to get there.

My wife and I could not have ben happier with our stay at Les PierresD'aurele. From arrival to departure our hosts went out of their way tomake our stay with them as delightful as possible. We were invited totaste their wines and each evening sat out in their courtyard enjoying abottle we had purchased. We shared the Gite with other visitors fromPortugal, Germany, France and Russia. We found them all extremelyfriendly and interesting. Our little Westie was not left out as theowners had their own small dog who was very attentive and Pierre's giftof ham went down very well. Very kind hosts.
