This is a friendly budget hotel - don’t expect too many frills- and very good value for the price. The room was clean and facilities in the room adequate - the hotel is also conveniently positioned.

This hotel is in an ideal location. After the youth hostel, this is one of the cheapest places to stay in Lille. The rooms are basic.

Breakfast area was ok, looked like it had been renovated. Staff were pleasant, continental breakfast was good (€6. 95)Vending machines with derinks and snacks reasonably priced. Parking inthe nearby Lafayette Gallery reasonably convenient especially as thehotel is in a shopping mall area, but approx €15 per night.

Location 15 min walk form eurostar, in the city centre, and right nextto a landmark church was excellent. The hotel’s lift was really cool(although I didnt attempt to use it - there was a big sign ’wet paint’on it). Room was very nice and minimalistic. Overall the hotel had thispast-time feling I was after when booking.

The location and the quirkiness of the hotel was pleasing - wonderful to see an authentic lift - the breakfast was nice. I would happily stay in this hotel again. P. s this hotel was recommended by a well travelled colleague - a good choice.

Unlike bland, chain hotels the hotel Breughel is full of character with lots of interesting pictures on the walls and wood panelling. Loved the old creaky lift! It is spotlessly clean, bathroom was great and the beds very comfortable. The location is a short walk from both main rail stations, is next to a beautiful old church on the edge of the old town and all the fascinating little side streets with fabulous architectural delights.

Hotel location was central. Lille is not a big place but having the hotel right in the middle of city centre made it easy to navigate and duck back into the room when it started raining.

The hotel is in a truly great location. We upgraded to the Superior room rate based on other reviews and were very happy we did - the room proved to be spacious (by European standards) and in a nice location within the hotel. The decorating and upkeep of the hotel is fabulous. This hotels was one of the highest values for the money we found on our 2.

We were most impressed by the hotel & the young polite staff, who all spoke excellent English. We were "upgraded" as the hotel was not full, so are not sure how the "basic" room would have differed. The hotel was not easy to find but that was because we did not have a detailed map of Lille until we located the tourist office. We would certainly stay at Hotel Kanai again if we return to Lille & would recommend it to our friends.

I stayed one night mid-week as planned. I use a lot of budget 2/3 starhotels in Europe and this one is good. I’drecommend this hotel for anyone staying a night or two in the centre oflille and not wanting to spend too much time in the room or expecting 5star luxury at budget hotel rates. Real bonuses for this standard ofhotel = minibar and lift to all floors!.

A great budget hotel. The breakfast, which cost extra, was continental but sufficient, served in a bright breakfast room overlooking the railway station. Thankfully, breakfast was free for the children. I hope London hotels can learn something about hospitality from this well-run.
