The service, buffet breakfast, and staff rapport are of the highest quality. The rooms facing the water are quite small, and there is no fridge and no tea making facility usually found in this quality of hotel. From the bay outlook rooms the view is lovely.

Good setting with easy access to the rest of the Island and mainland. Great swimming pool and terrace and nicely designed rooms. Free wi-fi in whole of hotel is a plus. Ground floor family room 40 was great size and sound proofed, offering lovely view of the bridge and sea.

The hotel has been tastily renovated. You do need a car to visit the island, which is well worth it. This hotel is in the ideal location to visit other towns on the island. Parking was secure.

The restaurant at the hotel was excellent. Friendly staff, delicious local food and wine. Prices were reasonable and they stayed open quite late. Room was comfortable, beds ok, tea supplied. Bathroom was ok and toiletries/towels replaced daily. A few other restaurants were close by. The hotel was about a 10 minute easy walk from the bus stop.

Nice view on the sea side, ideal location to start to explore the island. Rooms are basically equiped, spacious and very clean. The restaurant of Le Grand Large is a must, high quality food for a still acceptable price. We vistited the more trendy restaurants in St-Martin but were turned off quite quickly when compared to Le Grand Large. Same for the breakfast in here, more than above avarage when compared with similar hotels.

Ile de Re is stunning. Le Grand Large hotel is ideally located on thebeach. The pool is lovely and very clean. Staff were very helpful. Foodin the restaurant was very good. Rivedoux resort is ideal for a quiet,relaxing holiday if you want to get away from it all. Food/fruit/wineetc at the local shop were very cheap so ideal for picnics. We hiredbicycles and travelled around the island which is absolutely beautiful.Stay in La Flotte or St. Martin for a livelier hol. Visit La Rochelle -it is a gorgeous city. Overall we had a fabulous holiday. Woulddefinitely go back.

Rooms very comfortable, nice pool area, free bicycles, nice breakfast,coffee and tea making facilities available at all times. Secure parkingarea. Nice quiet residential area but only 5 minutes cycle ride tovillage centre and beach.

An absolutely wonderful holiday. The hotel and grounds were beautiful, extremely clean and everything was to a very high standard. We had a really wonderful holiday and couldn’t fault the owners or the facilities. We intend returning next year.

Novotel is placed conveniently, 10min walk from the Old Habour. Verynice hotel, with all the expected facilities, including a nice poolsituated aside from the bar/restaurant. Good for staying a couple ofnights while in La Rochelle.

The staff were excellent, charming and attentive - excellent locationwithin easy walking distance of lively town but hotel itself inbeautiful quiet park surroundings. Good facilities in hotel with lovelyswimming pool and surround. First class breakfast included in price,great choice of well prepared food and once again excellent staff.

The kitchenette and the bath tub were a nice feature allowing us to cook for ourselves. The Hotel is very close to the town centre yet in a quiet area.

The hotel is really central and It’s only a couple of minutes walk from Place De Verdun bus station. We stayed in the economy double- small but perfectly formed with good use of the space. The hotel has lots of character and the staff were lovely (considering the language barrier, they were very patient with our attempts at communicating in French). The most stand out factor for the hotel is it’s fantastic location with a great market at the end of the street and only a few minutes walk to the port.

This hotel is in an excellent position for all facilities. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Parking is nearby and reasonable - I paid just over 7 euros for 18 hoursor so but, if you check in before you park, I think you can get it alittle cheaper with a code they give you. In a quiet part of town butwithin walking distance of shops, the port and a beach.
