My parents "discovered" this little jewel of a hotel in the heart of the 6th Arronisment 20 years ago as the perfect combination: an affordable, comfortable hotel in Paris, run (and designed) by Danes. Although it has recently been sold to a French concern, I happy to report that the service, cleanliness and ambiance remains unchanged. Excellent breakfasts, with fresh orange juice, and the only place I encountered that still serves traditional cafe au lait, as opposed to the now ubiquitous "cafe creme" (aka lousy capucino). Lovely glassed-over dining area and adjoining patio for relaxing. The street is busy with revelers at night, so get a room on the patio for a quiet stay, even with open windows. We will be back!

The hotel is a fair price for the services offered. Located in the St. Germain area of Paris, there is lots to see, and shopping is within walking distance. There are 2 creperies, several bars and restaurants, that open at 11:00 am until past midnight, just outside the front door of the hotel. If you are looking for evening fun, or a late dinner, after day trips out of the city, or shopping all day, this is a safe, civilized older hotel on a bustling cobblestone lane filled with people until the early hours of the morning. The room is clean, the breakfasts are lovely, and the staff is attentive and considerate.Cab fare from the train station was not extraordinary, but otherwise a long walk.

The location is FANTASTIC! Paris St Germain is a vibrant area with so many cafes, restaurants and bars, tourist attractions, and excellent shopping just so close to the hotel. It is an easy walk to the Rodin Museum, the d'orsay Museum, the River Seine and also walkable to the Louvre and Notre Dame. This is our third trip to Paris and this is easily the best location we have stayed at.
