In the heart of Paris 9, the new Joyce Hotel opened in November 2009. The bright bedrooms of the Joyce Hotel are all different in terms of the colours and the furniture used, the cosiness of each expressing the hotels spirit of fun. We liked everything about the hotel: it is brand new, the staff isextremely helpful and attentive. We asked for a room with a balcony andgot it which was very nice. The rooms and the hotel is very nicelydecorated, the rooms are very clean, the beds are very comfortable.Drinks and finger food is served in the hotel 24/7, which is a nicetouch we thought. It is located in the area near Montmartre, thus if youlike to spend a nice evening there you can come and return back on footas it is in the walking distance. For longer trips: there is Metrostation close to the hotel. Breakfast is included in the price and isabsolutely perfect, even if the area might be overcrowded when the hotelis fully booked, it does not bother much as you can still have a verynice meal: cold cuts of various meat and cheese, eggs, variety of greensalad, salmon (!), rolls, cakes and really good coffee (includingespresso). The hotel says they do not have a private car park, but thereis a car park in the close distance

My daughter (12) and I visited the Joyce for a 5 day city trip. The personnel was very friendly (English speaking too), and the hotel looks very nice and modern inside. We had a fantastic room at the 6th floor. My daughter used the bedroom (double bed), and I slept on the bed in the sitting room (the couch was unfolded into a double bed). This way we could keep different bed-time schedules. The beds were good, and the airco and double glazing made sure we had a very good sleep. The breakfast was fine, with fresh fruit, bread, yogurt and juices. There is no bar in the hotel, but I think they offer a friendly alternative: you can take a free (!) drink (cola, tonic) and something to eat (nuts, chocolate roll) yourself anytime. We enjoyed this very much coming home after a hot day in the city. Wifi is free, and we got two keys, one for my daughters ipod and one for my laptop. The location is close to the Metro, and Montmartre is only two stops away.

The Joyce is well located at the south end of Montmartre. It's very close to 2 metro stops, and walking distance to the heart of Montmartre and the famed Sacre Coeur, but far enough to the action to be pretty quiet. The hotel is designed in a modern and whimsical fashion, giving it a very up-beat and fun feel. The staff is very accommodating and helpful and very fluent in English. Breakfast at the Joyce, which was free with our stay, was quite generous and served in their bright lobby which has a full sky-light ceiling. Our room was very bright and had 2 sets of French doors looking on to the street. The bed was comfortable and the plumbing had modern fixtures.
