It was our second stay at Hotel de France in Nantes and I was happy tosee that the hotel was as lovely as in 2009. The hotel is located in theheart of the city, really close to all important tourist attractions andonly 50 m away from the famous La Cigale restaurant (a must!). The reception staff was very polite, alwayswith a smile on. We didn’t try the breakfast (we thought it was a bitexpensive), but there are plenty.

The room was very nicely decorated, spacious and good value for money, especially as we needed parking which was provided at the rear of the hotel and was free. The wifi was free and worked in the room, the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is very well situated, shops, cafés, restaurants are all there on the doorstep.

The central location in Nantes in a really charming old hotel with suchhelpful and excellent staff. Big bedroom and bathroom. Desk staff wereso obliging, and breakfast staff efficient and helpful. Would definatelystay there again for sejour in Nantes.

I liked the location, it is a vey safe area to walk around at night. Given that the area surrounding the hotel is pedestrianised there is no traffic pollution. It was lovely to open out our window onto the perestrianised street and have lovely fresh air circulating in the room. We left the window wide open all night and looked at the stars! In saying that, i did request in my booking i wanted a room with a window, i had read a horrid review about another hotel in the centre of Nantes where people were given a room with no window, that would have been very claustraphobic! It was a very practic.

The hotel was located right in the shopping center of Nantes, and was within easy walking distance of most all of the main attractions of the city. The restaurants that were recommended to us, the Castle, and the Cathedral of Nantes were all easy to walk to.

The hotel is in good position in centre of city. Near hotel there is a pay-parking but a good price (using agreement with hotel). It is very confortable in order to visit the city.

This hotel is very well located. I could get a room with a view on the castel In the city center, at one tram station from the Nantes central station or 3mn walk. The location of the hotel was excellent, close to the old town, Nantes Chateau and lots of good restaurants within a short walk. The rooms were very clean, staff were friendly and the car parking facilities allowed us to hire a car for some countryside visits.

A clean, nicely staffed, small hotel a short walk from the Cathedral andshopping district. Like many Europeanhotels, the breakfast is overpriced, though. With my room on the 4th (top) floor and no lift, heinsisted on helping me carry my suitcase. The hotel isn’t located in thebest neighborhood, but it’s an oasis, offering straight-forward, no-frills accommodations.

I booked this as a last minute stop on the way to Cherbourg. Thelocation is right in the centre of Nantes. The hotel staff were reallyfriendly and helpful. Actually the people met in Nantes were reallyfriendly. The hotel is great value for money.

Good hotel which is very good for the price. The other remarks I readabout the bed and the noise are not true for me. I can recommend thishotel to all people who does not have a lot of money to spend.

We took a taxi from the station, otherwise it may have been difficult to find, but it’s location was very close to the centre, without being caught up in one way streets and pedestrian zones. The cooking and eating facilities would have been very useful if our stay had been longer, from an economy point of view. The staff were helpful. the room was fairly basic, but adequate, the shower good, the value for a city hotel was terrific.

Good location close to a tramstop. Mixture of residents and hotel guests. The apartment was in two floors with a narrow staircase and the bathroom upstairs. People with walking problems should choose another hotel.

Good clean spacious accommodation. Just off the main ring road in nantesso athough in a business district it has easy access to city and toroutes out of nantes. 40 and not sure how we would havebeen given access to our accommodation had we arrived 20 mins later. Allin all a very positive experience.

We were all very impressed with the accomodation, the house was clean, the layout was perfect, nice to have the little kitchenette for cooking. Great to have a fridge. We were a family of 5 and stayed one night and were overall very impressed.

Location was very good asas we have a car and there was free parking. Only 10-15 mins from city centre and has good access to motorways to get elsewhere in france. Accomodation was very spacious good for a family.

We stayed for 4 nights its location is perfect its so central perfectlocation for the city. Just to our right a 5min walk was the Chateau youcan have a reasonable lunch, turn left you have the beautiful gardens.The tram and train station were on or door step. With its location youcan walk everywhere . On Saturdays turn right when you come out and walk10mins or take a tram 2 stops and you have the biggest market I haveever seen.The food fish/meat/veg we walked and enjoyed it got our cookedchicken/olives /french bread for our picnic in the beautiful gardens. Ihad never heard of Nantes, we were so suprised how beautiful andfriendly it was. We will be going back and staying in Adagio. We hadsuch an enjoyable time. Irish couple.

I had a very good experience. The room was clean and very well-appointed. Although the hotel is on a main street, and my room facedthat street, the room was quiet. (The sex shop next door mentioned by aprevious reviewer is still there, but it is not very obtrusive.) Thestaff were cordial and competent. The location was exceptionallyconvenient from the train station, and for walking to the Chateau deducs de Bretagne, the main cathedral with its warren of restaurants insmall side streets nearby, and the La Cite' Nantes Events Center.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We liked the flexibility of self-catering combined with the facilities of a hotel. The hotel is well placed for shopping and near to the castle and lots of restaurants in the Bouffay district. The room was spacious and fairly comfortable . Air conditioning worked well and was not noisy. Good range of equipment in the kitchen area plus iron and ironing board and coffee maker provided for use. Self service laundry area is easily accessed and useful but a little expensive.
