Friendly staff, Comfortable Rooms, Good food well served, Gooodlocation. The room was fine. The pool was lovely. The village is beautiful.

Extremely comfortable, beautiful situation, eating outside on the lawn, the pool. Comfortable room with a good bed and bedding. The associated spa poolis a bonus.

The hotel was delightful, all the staff were friendly and spoke english, to varying degrees, which we found helful. The hotel was situated in the square at Lyons le Foret which enabled us to access bars and restaurants quickly as we were only there for the night.

The hotel was small and personal just like a home. It was also very peaceful and quiet in the village. a wonderful atmosphere in the hotel with the antiques. I have already recommended it to a friend.

Very charming old hotel in the beautiful and peaceful village of Lyons-la-forét. Went on daytrips to Paris,Giverny and Rouen. Enjoyed good food and drink in the hotel restaurantand in 3 other restaurants in the village. We’ll be back! U&d fromNorway/England.

We were revisiting this charming hotel , at this time it was being renovated - so was slightly dissapointed not to be able to eat in the lovely restaurant for our evening meal. The village eateries are closed on Thursdays ( which was when we arrived ) - and only one restaurant was available in the village which we managed to book, Some were turned away,so anybody staying on Thursdays take note ! We understand everything will be up and running as usual next week - just unfortunate for us - we choose the wrong week. The village still calls us back for peace, taking in the countryside,walking,.

The best thing about this hotel was the receptionist / dinner waiter (the same young man) who was polite, attentive and genuinely friendly. This dog-friendly hotel takes its woodland theme to the extreme, with bespoke furniture made from sticks and other bits of woodland which makes it quirky and memorable. The fixtures and fittings are all high quality and the shower was fantastic. The location, in the centre of Lyons-la-Foret was excellent; the large light dining room window faces onto the beautiful old market hall.

The plan was to visit Giverny which we did and was superb. We drove down and spent a long weekend at Lyons la Foret which is a beautiful 16th century village. The hotel was fresh and clean and very comfortable - ancient but also modern with wifi and great shower bathroom. The view to the back is quiet, to the front you cross a small road and walk into a triangular square with covered market hall. We spent Sunday morning in the spa: opened in 2009 with good treatment rooms and an indoor and outdoor pool. Good couple of restaurants no more than 100m from the hotel; great breakfast in the Cafe du Commerce. Even the unobtrusive Co-op had a good selection of domaine AOC red wine for around Euros 5.00 which suited our budget. Small farmers market on sat and sun. The drive to Giverny was easy and very enjoyable along quiet country roads.
