This is a quirky little hotel with old style furnishings that gives a bit of character. It is in a perfect location for a city trip to Lyon as all the main site areas & restaurants are within walking distance (the metro is also outside the front door!). We did not opt for the in room breakfast due to its convienient location (And a continental breakfast was €9 extra). Would definately recommend this hotel - Dont be put off by two stars!!.

We were passing through Lyon en route to the south of France so wanted somewhere central but relatively cheap for the night. For longer stays, I would recommend opting for a larger room. Since this was our first stay in Lyon it’s difficult to assess ’value for money’ but I did do a lot of scouting around the internet and compared to other hotels in this location, it seems pretty good. We didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on that.

Hotel Bayard Bellecour is wonderfully central - it’s easy to walk from the hotel to Vieux Lyon or around the centre of the town. The hotel is also very well placed for the metro, just across the road, so we found it easy to get to. The hotel has character, the bed was very comfortable, which we appreciated, the ensuite bathroom was modern, and everything was clean. The hotel staff were all very welcoming, friendly and efficient.

The location of the hotel was next to a beautiful park and an upscale area. You don’t see much this kind of rooms (apartment like) for this price. We got it at half price which allowed us to experience an upscale hotel without breaking the bank. We did felt like ’queens’.

Beautiful clean apartments with full kitchen, large bathroom, air-condition. Easy to park on the street, amazing park/small zoo next to the hotel, very quite location, about 15 - 20 min walk to historical parts of Lyon. Bus stop to the downtown area right next to the hotel. Very nice helpfulpeople working in the hotel, everyone spoke English.

The historic area - Vieux Lyon - is only a 20 minute walkaway. The hotel is easily accessible from the Gare Part Dieu trainstation on Tram #1, stop Liberte, 55 yards from the Hotel. The breakfastroom in the hotel is small and the buffet is expensive. Weekend mornings (except during Winter months), there isan open air market on the Quai a block from the hotel.

We stayed only one night in Lyon. I picked this hotel because the roomsize seemed to be a bit bigger than average in Lyon, at good rates. We walked with luggage from Gare Part Dieu to the hotel in20 min, the next day we took the tramway which connects hotel and trainstation directly. If youtravel by train and want to explore Lyon b.

The location of the hotel was fantastic! I didn’t spend much time in the hotel because there was so much to see and do in the vicinity. Also, the staff at this hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and very comfortable. I would definitely stay again if I am lucky enough to return to Lyon!.

The hotel is located outside the centre of Lyon but just a few minutesjourney by metro will take you to the main square in the centre of thecity. The hotel provides a good, basic, no-frills service. The hotel is set in the Gorge deLoop area, but no wolves were heard howling in the night, only thesound of birds singing at dawn and if you looked from a front or sidewindow towards the wooded hills, you will note that woodland andhabitat have been preserved. A lovely part of Lyo.

Best Western Saphir Lyon is in an ideal location for taking the Metro into the city. It takes only a few minutes to walk from the hotel to the station - where you can buy a day ticket to use as many times as you like - not only on the Metro but on any other forms of transport in Lyon. Getting around the city is made easy. When we made our initial reservation - we got a special weekend rate - but there was so much to see - we booked a further 2 nights - even though the tariff was more - it was worth it!.
Luca  — 25.3.2010
The hotel is not far from the city center and well positioned compared to the Metro. The room are fine and the hotel is able to fulfill the needs of the guests but the strong point is the kindness of the people are working in the hotel. good choice for a nice trip in Lyon.

Our stay at the hotel war overall very good, the location beeing absolutely perfect for our purpose (wandering in town and attending a gig at the Transbordeur) and our litlle dog beeing freely welcome. Despite the (small) problems below, I would definitely recommend this hotel. The price is not that good, but given the hotel’s location, maybe it would have deserved one more point on the price criteria.

If you’re traveling to/from Lyon Gare Part Dieu station, this hotel is easily accessible. You have AirCon, TV and free Wi-fi which is great. The bathroom is tiny as mentioned in many other reviews but wasn’t a major problem for me. The room is clean, and overall it’s a good value for money.
