Very relaxing atmosphere at the hotel. Lovely breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Isle de Re is a wonderful place, but very expensive. La Galiote offered us clean comforatble accommodation a 10 min walk fom the shops and restaurants of La Flotte, at a reasonable (though not cheap) price. The standard of cleanliness was first class, and the owner and staff extremely pleasant and helpful.

Isle de Re is a wonderful place, but very expensive. La Galiote offered us clean comforatble accommodation a 10 min walk fom the shops and restaurants of La Flotte, at a reasonable (though not cheap) price. The standard of cleanliness was first class, and the owner and staff extremely pleasant and helpful.

Excellent position adjacent to harbour in La Flotte. Easy to park just down the road, but I went out of season! Basic clean hotel, no frills, just what I anticipated.

Room 24 is good as it looks over the harbour. Room was a decent size. aswell. The hotel is in a good location and the bus stop is oppositewhere the bus will take you either to La Rochelle or to other parts ofthe island.

This hotel was in a really great location and if you are visiting il dere then la flotte has to be one of the best places. Hotel in a fablocation with great restaurants and bars very close nearby. Hotel basicand very clean and comfortable having been recently renovated so don’tbe put off at all from previous (negative) comments. great choice for agreat stay.

Staff very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast - ambiance good, food good, staff very efficient and pleasant. Plenty to eat and drink and quality excellant. Liked the ground floor rooms because they have an outside sitting area. Previous year stayed in a room on the 1st floor. Would like to know when booking, which type of room is available so our choice could be more informed.

We booked here after reading all the other comments, and couldn't haveasked for a better stay. Marie & Jean, the owners, could not be morewelcoming (although neither of them speak a word of English - which wasa bit of a challenge for my ancient schoolgirl French!), and theaccommodation was delightful - a large room in a small single storeyblock away from the main building, with a fabulous bathroom, air con, alovely big & comfy bed, plenty of storage and its own seating outside,perfect for a picnic breakfast or lunch in the sunshine. Breakfastprovided was delicious & substantial but a little pricey, so after thefirst day we just bought whatever we wanted from the local market,boulangerie etc - only 5 minutes walk away. The only thing missing was akettle - apparently previous guests had made fish soup in the kettleprovided, so the facility had been 'withdrawn'! - but otherwise wewanted for nothing. Highly recommended.

This is the second time we have stayed at La Galiote. The owners are brilliant - lovely and warm, helpful and offered us the use of crockery and cutlery when we took advantage of the brilliant local market to have a supper at the hotel. They even gave as a gift as my husband had the same name as the range of teapots they had - Richard. How thoughtful of them. The rooms are of a high standard and it is lovely to see so much storage space in the bathroom as well as the bedroom! Very nice touch. The layout is really good - with a very useful table and chairs outside the rooms for convenience. The breakfasts are really good - plentiful, good quality crockery and we LOVE La Galiote!!!! The receptionist was also very helpful and efficient. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Il de Re as I do not think there can be a better hotel on the island! They let us leave our car there for an hour or so after checking out, to take another chance to see the fabulous market.
