Perfect in every way - free parking, quite close to motorway, but very quiet. Very easy to find from Gradignan motorway junction. The buffet breakfast is good, but like most hotels is this price bracket, its basic, but also very good. The hotel has a very modern, contemporary interior with very helpful staff - we also got very good information in order to get the bus and then the tram into the centre of Bordeaux. If you do decide to drive in, then go for a P+Tram (or Park and Ride as its known in the UK) as Bordeaux's modern Tram system is very slick and if you miss a tram, there'll be another in 5 minutes time.

Arena Hotel te Gradignan - Bordeaux, was voor ons een uitstekende locatie om als tussenstop te overnachten bij het doorreizen van Frankrijk, via Spanje naar Portugal. Dit hotel ligt net onder Bordeaux op een paar minuten van de autostrade in een afgelegen stuk woongebied buiten het centrum van Gradignan. Dit hotel is dus prima voor reizigers met de wagen die willen doorsteken naar Spanje. Het hotel is sober en netjes, wat je nodig hebt is er. Je hebt een heel goed bed, goeie douche en qua ruimte krijg je voldoende plaats. De kamers zijn bijzonder stil,dus goed geisoleerd, je kan rustig slapen. Als je op zoek bent naar een goed restaurant, dan neem je de wagen en rijdt doorheen het centrum van Gradignan tot je op je rechterzijde een kasteel ziet met water eromheen. Hier sla je linksaf en op je linkerkant heb je het restaurant met terras en zicht op het kasteel. Zeer lekker en mooi verzorgde borden, een aanrader.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel was really clean and was excellent value for money. Parking was free, it was close to the airport and to the main routes out to Arcachon and the sea. The swimming pool is small but a great additional feature.

Lovely hotel room. We had a problem with our car and the sgtaff couldn't have been more helpful in suggesting solutions and helping us with phone calls and late checkout to accommodate us. Top marks to them all - especially the Chef who had very good English and was really helpful to us in helping to make phone calls and sort out appointments for us.

The city and surrounds are magnificent - getting to the city from thehotel is a short bus ride to the tram which would have to be one of thebest systems in Europe - shops, buildings, the wine museum and the riverfront were wonderful. The hotel is quite adequate - the meals,breakfasts were okay but it was clean and quiet - bit of a missionfinding the hotel but once it is short term pain :-)

The hotel was clean.comfortable convenient for buses into the city. Theonly fault was the dinner in the restaurant,really the worst mealeither of us have had in France!1Beef one could not cut (let alonechew!) had we been given steak knives it may have been easier, no-onecame to our table until we had finished.Duchess potatoes were dry likepaper,no sauce of any sort &peas ,carrotts obviously from a can.FrenchCuissine =not!

Nothing good about this hotel . The breakfast times are too early . Food at restaurant was ok but expensive for what it was . Bathroom very tired , needs a make over. No fridge in room . A/C set to warm . This group of hotels is aimed at low end business travellers & not for the traveller . The arrival of women though out the night made it feel more like a motel brothel ...The hotel was almost impossible to find too . To be honest I can't think of any thing good about this place .

The hotel was perfect for accessing the city centre and the nearby carpark was also very good.We stayed for 1 night on a visit to Bordeauxand the hotel was well positioned so that we could walk easily into thecity centre.

We have stayed at the hotel before, so knew what to expect. It's a good value hotel, close to Bordeaux city centre and the tram service, so everything is easily accessible. Rooms are a good size, the shower is good and tea and coffee facilities are provided.

The hotel is very central, easy to drive to, and while not on the niceststreet it is within walking distance to the main shopping and eatingareas, and seems safe. Parking was very convenient, though it would beexpensive if you were staying a few days at up to 19.50 per day. Thestaff were very helpful providing anything we asked for. I wouldconsider staying here again if visiting Bordeaux in the future.
