Beautiful hotel, spotless. Hotel is right across a central plaza that connects to the pedestrian shopping area and historic center. Hotel has its own parking. The hotel restuarant , Georges, is a must; service elegant, food superb. There is also a bistro in the hotel which we did not eat in but the menu and the ambiance were very nice. This not your typical chain hotel, it is quite lovely!.

The hotel’s close proximity to the town centre (2 mins walk), theCathredral (5 mins walk), train station (10 mins walk) makes this anideal hotel to stay in, it is a well kept/clean hotel with verycourteous staff in all areas of the hotel. Good value for money based onthe accommodation we had of a double room on the first floor at the sideof the hotel. Breakfast was standard continental plus scrambled/boiledeggs ham/cheeses, all serve yourself but waiting staff were on hand. Wedidn’t eat in the hotel for dinner.

The hotel has a certain air of luxury about it, though our room was farfrom luxurious (not even a head-board on the bed!). Considering all thetimes I have stayed at the hotel (and in many other Best Westerns), I amdisappointed that I have never been offered an upgrade, as I have oftenbeen in comparable hotel chains. The most positive aspect of staying inChartres is the cathedral and the town itself.
