The location was superb. It was lovely to come " back home " to a lovelyquiet garden location ( we had a big garden room) it was quiet in themidst of a medieval village which was humming with visitors. As for eating we noticed most ofthe Restaurants were offering the same menu give or take a couple ofdishes so having tried a couple I will say you will not do better thanto eat in the Hotels Restaurant, it was good value good device andrightnnext door if you’re tired after a days sightseeing and offers allthe same dishes. Taxis are easy , thenHotel just.

The location the hotel was superb - right in the middle of the walledcastle. Breakfast was very good, internet (wifi) was helpful, staffwere very good, tea (& coffee) making facilities in the room was apleasant surprise. Parking was secure and not too far from the hotel.The hotel and overall experience in Carcasonne is something that mostpeople would enjoy.

The location was perfect with unsurpassed views over the medieval cite from our balcony. The breakfast served in the fourth floor dining room was good with adequate variety and we also made use of the swimming pool located on the fourth floor. We also made use of the outside hotel restaurant on the Quai overlooking the River Aude at lunchtime. Overall a good 3 star hotel with 4 star prices and a 5 star view.

Very stylish, quiet hotel with friendly, multilingual and informative staff. Stunning view of the Cite if you book a ’panorama’ room (recommended). I stayed here whilst on a 2 month roadtrip through 15 european countries and it stands out as one of the most enjoyable places I stopped at - a perfect base from which to explore the Cite of Carcassonne. Highly recommended.

We stayed only one night, but hotel was up to our expectations. Our room had beautiful view at the Carcassonne’s fortress and that’s what we ask for. We have arrived after 10pm, so the restaurant was already closed, but a receptionist kindly offered some muffins for my children, something that we are going to remember.

I found the hotel staff exceptionally friendly. i have stayed in a lot of hotels around the world and the staff here were definately among the best. they are helpful, make an effort to be friendly not in the usual professional friendliness you get in hotels but a conscious effort to do all they can to help and to help you feel like a person not a room number.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! We were getting a nighttrain to Paris and even though we had to check out at noon, we were ableto leave our bags at the hotel and then sit in the hotel lobby and readnewspapers and use the hotel facilities until 11. 00pm when we left forthe railroad station. A great choice of hotel!.

Very comfortable hotel in great location. Ideal for a short break with lots to do in Carcassonne and nearby. Unless you plan to tour, best to get a taxi from Carcassonne airport (€15) to the hotel as it could be difficult to find without satnav.

Leaving in the morning, the room which was a disabled room smelled ofpee. Iam not sure if the smell of urine was coming from the toilet or from thebed area. We had to pay 9 euros for the privilege of parking at the backof the hotel which in my mind was too much for that as well. I wouldnever recommend this hotel to anyone far better if you can find one ofthe cheaper hotels they are better value for money very disappointing.

The staff of the hotel was nice and helpful. The location was very good (but the hotel´s name is "Royal Hotel", not Au Royal). There is a free wi-fi in the hotel. The breakfast was the best one we had in Southern France.

The staff were friendly and the breakfast could not be faulted. However, the linen was clean and bed reasonably comfortable. The hotel location was good, being well placed to explore both Carcassonne centre and was within 20 minutes walk of the medieval walled city.

This hotel I would definitely recommend, took bus from airport (15mins) to hotel. It is within easy walking distance of everything you would wish to see in Carcassonne. The hotel garden sold this hotel for me, we had breakfast out in the garden and in the evening we ordered tapas and wine and read our books in lovely surroundings. Staff were lovely, hotel was very quirky.

The Hotel Du Pont Vieux is beautifully situated at the foot of the walled city of Carcassone. We could enjoy the castle night and day from the hotels small balcony on the top floor. The hotel is an old timber beamed building that is very well decorated and gives you the feeling of a bed and breakfast in a medieval building. It is not the cheapest place in town, but if you want to have a special experience with a friendly staff, I would recommend the Hotel Du.

Enjoyed the outdoor swimming pool, and the beautiful surroundings. For afamily the cabins are ideal as you can come and go independently andhave self-catering facilities. The position is superb for visitingCarcassonne while staying in more peaceful surroundings where thechildren can let off steam.

The hotel is different, we stayed in the old part of the hotel. Our roomwas located in original old French villa. The room was situated on twofloors and consisted of a kitchen, dinning room / lounge, large bedroomand bathroom. Every door / window ( 7 of them ),was fitted withtraditional shutters. We found the rooms to be clean and adequatelyfurnished. The strange thing was that the reception was closed between12.00 and 4 o’clock. This means that you cannot get into the hotel carpark until the reception open because you need a ‘pin number’ fromreception to get in the car park. Therefore at 4 o’clock there is a bigrush and then subsequent queue to book into the hotel. The location isexcellent to visit the medieval ‘cite’ of Carcassonne. The only downside was that our room was situated alongside a busy / noisy main road.In summary:- good location, good parking, noisy, large clean room whenyou finally managed to check in.

This hotel provides accommodation in apartments. It was a great place for a stopover as we were driving through France into Spain. Accommodation as expected, great size, nice condition, goodcleanliness, good location (no kettle, but coffee maker a goodsubstitue, ample pots and pans for those who want to cook). Handy bakeryopposite. Close enough to the Medieval City several hundred yards strolluphill at end. And 10 mins walk fairly flat to supermarkets oppositedirection from city. When I readprevious previews I was worried - but Iliked the extremely tight security on site it made me feel safe. Justensure you read the rules when booking - check in times, baggage etc.these are non negotiable, arrive in these times and all will work well,outside these times make sure you understand the instructions - they arenot very clear. The location of the apartment was excellent, it was well appointed and we were made to feel very welcome and comfortable. I would be more than happy to stay there again if passing through Carcassone which is a lovely City to spend a few days in.

Superbly presented and very spacious 3 bedroom apartment. Amazingcentral location - literally less than 5 mins walk to beautiful oldsquare and all its cafes and restaurants. Kitchen was betterequipped than mine! All 'mod cons' dvd player, cd, printer, wi fietc. Huge living areas and lovely rooftop terrace. Will definatelybe booking again.

Perfectly situated for exploring the fascinating city,both old and newtown, of Carcassonne and the surrounding countryside. Thebest fresh croissants I have ever tasted. Bernard, the proprietor of thischarming small hotel,was most attentive with a delightful sense ofhumour. The free car parking was especially worthwhile.

A very nice hotel in great location just a short walk from the medieval city of Carcassonne with its own parking places and stunning garden, we were amazed by the beautiful decor that transferred us many years back and we felt like kings and queens. The breakfast was excellent and the owner booked us a place at an amazing restaurant in Carcassonne. We really suggest staying longer as it is a great place to take trips from!.

Bernard the host was a lovely, warm native of Carcassonne, who was very helpful to my friend and I, who were visiting there for the first time. the hotel is a recently redone large home, on a busy street, but very quiet, with a large back yard. We really enjoyed our short stay at Au Domisiladore. Our host, Joel, wasextremely welcoming and helpful. It is a charming b&b and we loved thegreenhouse in the courtyard garden. Breakfast was just right, lovelycoffee and some excellent jam to go with the plentiful croissants, toastand breads. Plus yoghurt,cheeses,eggs ham...all you could wish for. Thelocation was excellent. A short walk to the Cite and 20 minutes to thecastle. A taxi cost 10 euro to the airport as did the airport bus -dropping us off a few steps away from Au Domisiladore. Despite thelocation on a road there was no noise problem at all. There is a wellequipped kitchen/dining/sitting/TV room for guests to use with kettle,fridge and microwave. It is a quirky place and we loved it!

The character of the b&b is elegant, warm and welcoming. It is simple tofind with lots of parking spots on and off the street. It is within easywalking distance of the Old Town. The host, Joel, is well informed aboutthe area and is a most gracious and easy mannered gentleman who canadvise you about the many local and further attractions. Our room wasspacious and comfortable. Breakfast is served in a lovely conservatoryoverlooking the petit walled garden where Joel serves you a scrumptiousbreakfast that he attentively bestows between 8 and 10am. If you wish toprepare a snack or take your breakfast before 8am there is a kitchenprovided for the guests' convenience.

Our stay was absolutely superb! The hotel was old and full of character.We had a very spacious room, which overlooked the garden and wasbeautifully quiet and peaceful, with occasional birds singing to us onthe tree outside our window. Our host was very friendly and helpful,speaking impeccable English and providing us with a map of the bestplaces to eat in the incredible fairy-tale medieval city, only about 20minutes walk from his house. Although there were no tea/coffee makingfacilities in our room he was more than happy for us to make one free ofcharge in his lounge downstairs. The breakfast he provided waswonderful! He set it up for us in a pretty little greenhouse/lean to inhis garden and although it was pouring with rain, he made sure we werewarm and cosy inside. There was plenty to eat, with a lovely selectionof food. It was definitely the highlight of our week!

Bernard the host was a lovely, warm native of Carcassonne, who was very helpful to my friend and I, who were visiting there for the first time. the hotel is a recently redone large home, on a busy street, but very quiet, with a large back yard. The rooms are comfortable and nostalgic and if you like atmosphere, this is a good spot. Parking is free as is wi-fi and the grounds are very nice.

Perfectly situated for exploring the fascinating city,both old and newtown, of Carcassonne and the surrounding countryside. Thebest fresh croissants I have ever tasted. Bernard, the proprietor of thischarming small hotel,was most attentive with a delightful sense ofhumour. The free car parking was especially worthwhile.

A very nice hotel in great location just a short walk from the medieval city of Carcassonne with its own parking places and stunning garden, we were amazed by the beautiful decor that transferred us many years back and we felt like kings and queens. The breakfast was excellent and the owner booked us a place at an amazing restaurant in Carcassonne. We really suggest staying longer as it is a great place to take trips from!.

Apartment Villa d'Achille in Carcassonne, Hérault-Aude. 4 persons, 3 rooms, 2 bedrooms. Immaculate ground floor apartment. Wonderful views Position: On the edge of the village of Preixan 900 yards away for bakery,  grocers, bar and good value restaurant. The medieval walled city of Carcassonne is about five miles away and has a wealth of shops, bars and restaurants. You can hire boats on the Canal du Midi and walk or bicycle for miles along the tow paths. Many other lovely walks close to the villa, through vineyards, into the hills and along the valley of the Aude. Set in enclosed gardens, the apartment has its own private terrace with sun awning, garden furniture and barbecue. Wonderful views towards the village  from the pool area with a few trees providing shade. Attributes: Parking, TV, Baby cot, Dishwasher, Washing machine, Swimming Pool.
