If you had a rating higher than "Excellent", I would have given it to Chateau de la Cote. I loved the setting, the castle, my room, the dining room, and the staff. I felt like a princess the entire time. It was easy to go into the surrounding small villages if I wanted to, but truthfully, this was a hard place to leave.

A lovely location. The village of Bourdeilles is about 3km away and is fabulous. If you want hotel room with air-con and 24hr room service this part of France is not for you; though if you want to unwind, visit picturesque medieval towns here, there and everywhere then this is the place. We also try to converse in French as far as possible and haven’t yet met any rude or off-hand locals in years of visiting France.

Very well presented chateau in excellent grounds, good location. Very near to Brantome which is a brilliant little town, traditional Dordogne look to it, good restaurants, friendly people etc. Relatively easy to find, with the hotel signed from the main road. But be warned - the hotel is not where google maps thinks it i.

This is a charming small hotel made special by the surroundings and thecharming family who run it. Bedrooms and bathrooms are furnished to ahigh standard. We ate in the hotel once and the food, which was cooked by the father was excellent as was the breakfast each morning, delicious hot crepes and wonderful pastries. On the night we didn't eat in the hotel we asked for a recommendation from Oliver the son and his recommendation provided one our best meals in France which was also great value considering what we had

This is one of the most charming hotels we've stayed at--and we've stayed at a lot of them. The owner/hostess is the most hospitable person--perfect for her job. The price is very reasonable, providing great price/value quotient. The grounds are as charming as the rooms and the restaurant is very good. Breakfast while 15 euros is served in the lovely dining room and includes fruit, yogurt, crepes, cake, croissants, bread, orange juice, eggs and coffee--and it's served to you, no buffet here. Just great service at a lovely, lovely hotel.

Everything about our stay was lovely. All the staff made great effortsto make us welcome. I enjoyed swimming in the outdoor pool and lazing inthe garden. It took about twenty minutes to walk into Brantome along afootpath and we found the small town with its river, old buildings andcaves full of interest. We planned to stay for bed and breakfast onlybut then decided to treat ourselves to an evening meal. It was sodelicious that we ate on the terrace again the following day. For us itfelt quite expensive but was worth every penny for a relaxing wellearned treat.

Nice location, buildings & grounds-nice walk to Brantome-food good-spacious suite-pleasant staff. Countryside feel to this hotel and very warm and friendly Irish manager made us feel at home.

Nothing to dislike. The owners were so welcoming and passionate aboutwhat they are doing, their food and providing top class service. Wewould return. Any suggestion that the hotel is expensive should beignored. Think what you pay in chain hotels and for value for money thisis more than equal and so much more tranquil. I have seen comments on awebsite about the cost of breakfast. Ignore this as well because,, whileat first sight it may seem a bit expensive it is made and prepared withlove at the hotel. Superb conserves and croissants for example areprepared dialy by William, one of the owners. The croissants are justthe best. The perfect location for our special occasion.

We have stayed in approx 90 different hotels around the world in the past 4 years - we have never experienced before the genuine commitment to service and guest appreciation provided by Jane and William Laxton. Without doubt the most sincere, engaging and appreciative owners/manager we have ever experienced. You are simply amazing. You are again very welcomed to stay with us if you visit Australia.The countryside, the house' facilities, proximity to Brantome, comfort of the rooms etc are the best. The highest accolades to you.

We had a warm welcome from the Owners. The Owner cooked a meal forourselves and another couple which we ate on the Terrace and it waslovely. The other 4 Guests were eating out. In cooler weather you alleat indoors on 1 table, it's a bit like being a House Guest in someone'shouse. We have never submitted a questionaire before but both decided wehad enjoyed our night's stay so much we wanted to comment. The hotel isa lovely Manor House set in its own grounds in the countryside out oftown and is a 15 minute walk through woods to Brantome

The owners were simply delightful and always anxious to help make our stay wonderful. They take great pride in making their B&B warm and inviting and it is! Great location near everything in Brantome, and they gave us great advice on where to eat. Bathroom was modern and very sweet and rooms were all decorated nicely. Loved the crepes!! Coffee and tea were superb. Delightful experience! While there is no parking on site, we parked in a lot very close to the B&B and just rolled our luggage down the street with no problem. You can aso drop luggage off and then park.

This b&b is a real little gem. Situated in the middle of Brantome our room was large and prettily decorated. The bathroom was spotless and again really big with twin sinks. There is wifi and a communal laptop to use if you wish. In the breakfast room there was also a fridge, sink, kettle etc which is really useful if you are out and about. Sandrine and partner who runs the b&b were both really helpful and welcoming. Brantome itself is a really lively town with several bars and restaurants. We had a delicious meal at hotel Chabrol which I would definitely recommend.

Absolutely perfect. This hotel is in a central location in a picturesque village with all the amenties you need for any type of stay. We were lookng for property to buy in the area and needed a comfortable room to stay in after our long days on the road, Au Nid Des Thes exceeded all expectations on this. The rooms were immaculately clean, authentic French design with en suite facilities that were modern and fresh - a perfect balance and a cherry on top with a scrummy breakfast with the best crepes we've ever had. On top of this the hotel staff/owner were incredibly helpful and couldn't do enough for us to make our stay enjoyable. 3 days was just not long enough, we are now suffering with major holiday blues and can't wait to return!
