The extra-friendly hotel manager welcomes guests into his warm and cosy Normandy hotel of traditional 19th century architecture resembling a large house surrounded by gravel paths and lush greenery. The hotel grounds are huge and have outdoor playground equipment as well as a terrace attached to the hotel bar, perfect for evening drinks surrounded by the peaceful gardens.

The continental breakfast was very good value for money. The breakfast room was light with good views. The service was very friendly and attentive. The hotel had plenty of car parking space. A good base to explore Calvados. There was plenty of space in the front garden for relaxing in the fresh air. The building was beautiful and can be seen from the other side of Arromanches.

Stayed here for a week as a base for visiting this area of Normandy andthe d Day beaches. Location just 5 minutes walk from the centre ofArromanche is perfect. Our room with a small balcony overlooking thesmall town, the bay and beyond to the cliffs was bright, clean andcomfortable in a typically 'French country house' style. Continentalbreakfast is served in a pleasant dining room. Well kept gardens andvery good parking.

The service was friendly and the owner was there to greet us. Althoughhe only spoke French (after all we were in France!) he took time toensure that we understood. Strangley we were placed in a house acrossthe road to the hotel however as a party of ten this suited us well. Thehotel rooms were clean and tidy with the usual complimentaries althoughlacked tea and coffee making facilities. The breakfast in the LeChanteclair was held in the dining room and was very efficient withoutmaking you feel rushed. There was plenty to eat for all and a consistantsupply of coffee and chocolate (keeping the kids happy!) Only 150m fromthe beach which was lovely especially in the early morning sun.

The continental breakfast was very good value for money. The breakfast room was light with good views. The service was very friendly and attentive. The hotel had plenty of car parking space. We liked the friendliness of the hotel and it’s location right near the beach. The street the hotel is on was very hard to find. The meals were excellent food and value. We would probably stay again except for the following (below).

This hotel was in a great position to tour around the D-day beaches. It was very clean, our room looked as if it had been recently decorated. This would not be ideal for anyone who has trouble climbing stairs as they were very small and winding. I would revisit this hotel if staying in the area again.

The staff were very sweet and helpful. Very welcoming and accomodating. The room was small but totally functional, with a nice armoire in one corner to hang things up. The outer doors are secured with a code after ten, which I found to be a security I appreciated. The breakfast was lovely with lots of options, perfect for a leisurely breakfast. The location is great, near trams, buses, and right in the downtown area (for shopping, tourists visits, and good food.)

Friendly and helpful staff who didn't speak English. This is actuallynot a - point for us, in contrast to a number of other travellers. Ifyou travel to another country why would you assume that everyone willspeak English?! Good location close to city centre. Other reviewershave complained about the noise and that it was too light in thebedroom, perhaps they didn't find the way to shut the double-glazedwindow and move the blind down which made it pitch-black and almostsilent from outside.
