Our double room was small and dark. When we arrived the TV had to be changed as it did not work. There was only 1 tooth glass in the bathroom although it was a double room. When I took one of the drinking glasses from our bedroom and put it in the bathroom they did not replace it so there was only one drinking glass in the bedroom. Although we had a double bed we had two single duvets and when I asked for one they said they did not have this. I asked where the tea and coffee making facilities were and they said they could not supply them in case of fire. This facility should be removed from the web site. There was always irritation in having to ask them to put staff in the bar to serve us with either a drink or coffee, particularly in the afternoon. I have travelled extensively in my life, staying in Prague now 5 times, mostly with friends. This is NOT a 4 star quality hotel. I would not go back there. Hotel Opera is conveniently located to the Prague City Center and OldTown (15-minute walk), yet away from the over-priced and over-crowdedtourist locations. The six-story late 19th century building has beencompletely restored on the outside, and tastefully refurbished on theinside. The wide and slowly rising grand staircase with original castiron balustrades, which is so typical for the Central-European buildingsfrom this era, provides a convenient way for reaching the ground floorrestaurant or bar, although two elevators are available as well. Myrooms had a quietly running central air conditioner and a large, floor-to-ceiling tiled bathrooms with excellent water pressure. All hotelpersonnel I met during my 9-day stay were exceptionally nice andfriendly. A generously stocked hot and cold breakfast buffet wasavailable daily at no extra charge.
