The hotel has a very good location: only a 10-minute walk from the citycenter and very close to transport facilities (the tram station isexactly near the hotel) and the metro station is 2-tram stops away. The interior design of the hotel is very pleasant and reminds of the old noble mansions. The room is quite big and spacious as well as the bathroom. The food was to our taste (eggs, sausages, various types of bread, cheese, ham, salads, fruit, croissants) but "extreme" coffee drinkers (like myself) might find coffee weak - but this is just a minor aspect. The overall atmosphere is pleasant and a big plus for the hotel is the fact that breakfast is served until 10 a.m. (so late-sleepers may enjoy a longer sleep). In conclusion, if you plan a city break or just a trip to Prague, you should consider this hotel. Note: If you go by car (like we did), the hotel recommends a car park which is 200 m away. However, you can park your car in the "park and ride" areas which are usually clos

We asked for a quiet room and got a very quiet one at the back of thehotel (Room 211). There was no air-conditioning but we knew that when webooked the room. As our room was at the back of the hotel we were ableto sleep with the windows open and not hear any noise from the trams. The room was a bit small but the bed was very comfortable. The bathroomwas nice. There was very fast free wifi in the room which we were notexpecting as it wasn't advertised. The hotel is in an excellent location less than 10 mins walk from Charles Bridge with numerous reasonably priced very good restaurants within a couple of minutes walk of the hotel. Our favourites were Catania (Mexican) and Carmelita (Italian). There is also a nice Thai restaurant (Noi). The tram to Prague Castle (No. 22) goes from right outside the hotel. The breakfast was fine but I'd say be there early to get the pick of the buffet.

Hotel william provided the ideal base for a city break as well asmatching my two other main criteria - cleanliness and good value. Thelocation is the best I encountered in prague with all attractions just ashort stroll away - the room I had was small but was clean, had a largecomfortable bed, was warm and the water was hot and plentiful. Breakfastwas buffet style and extensive. Basement bar was basic but ideal for acheap nightcap ( 70cK or1.60 euro a pint ). The hotel william was also on the same street as the Alycimist - a haven of fine dining only 50 yards from the hotel door - I would highly recommend it for a special meal in a amazing setting. I have no hesitation in recommending the hotel william for a city break and the staff were excellent
